Sounds like Lycett is totally stuffed can hardly walk into training today , Giles will probably play as a backup at least .

Lycett is certainly earning that $400k salary this season .
Well that is balls. Hope we dont induce a recurrance of his OP from last year

I agree. McGinitty brought some effort but not so good yesterday. Bring on Nelson. Bring on some enthusiasm. Hope the coach is open to looking in the Wafl

Not sure whether to give Redden another run. If sheed isn't ready, he stays. If he ballses it up again, he's out for the Dominator.
How's Duggan traveling? Could he be swapped in for McGinnity?

Simmo on 6pr.

NN could be back for Pies game
Sheed is up for selection, played enough time in WAFL.
Adamson could get a game soon if he keeps up weekends form
Jetta could play AFL this week, but most likely back to East Perth
Mentioned Giles having a good game
Would like to see what Gov offers in the ruck/fwd role but worried about moving him from backline
Barrass is keeping EMac out currently

Thats most of what I remembered, its up on 6pr site for anyone wanting a listen.

This is getting a bit fly shit out of pepper like. I include Wing as a midfield position.

How does what you have written about Langford diminish what was done? His first year he had glandular fever and didnt play bugger all. then he played 1 game. Then he was a regular in the midfield for a premiership winning team. Its even better when you read how he got started. Was moved to the midfield the year after for Boxhill and then got in to their midfield the next year for the whole year.

Shiels being 20 years old and having played 17 games averaged 23 possies in 2011 before being moved to a tagger role to which then the Hawks moved away from.

I feel like the goal posts are being moved heaps here. This is a strong team that was certainly in contention giving young players with not a lot of experience under their belt games in a midfield.
We also played Butler, Rosa and Priddis in the midfield in the mid 2000s.

I agree with you that we are far too conservative. Cannot believe I saw McGinnity and Hutchings line up at the same centre bounce yesterday. In 2016. McGinnity and Hutchings.

There is no way you can say that Nelson and Duggan would offer less.

This idea that there are two modes: rebuild mode (young players must get maximum time at the expense of winning) and premiership mode (senior players must get maximum time at the expense of development) is utter bullshit.

Sydney have debuted six players this season. Hawthorn have debuted four. We have had one. These guys manage to hold their side together while thinking toward the future - why can't we?

Really don't like this sentiment. You made our defense work without EMac and Brown last year but now you're too afraid to make a proactive move because you don't think the side will be able to cope with one change?

Fair enough if you think he is a better defender than forward, but if you want to move him forward but don't have faith in our other three KPDs, then something ain't right

Seriously drop ginners/brown/hutch/redden all to much the same and plodders.

Nelson for tagging/sheed in reddens role/ giles second ruck/ and hotline in for being boss

This may be the stupidest sentence ever stated, but I kind of feel like Simmo is in poor coaching form.

I completely agree, Im hanging to see Gov in that role... but to be fair to Simpson I think it was more in the context of not wanting to mess with Govs form than not trusting the other defenders.

Seems a bit bereft of ideas, but admittedly I haven't been listening to any of his pressers. Where's that campaigner bombard when you need him.

He started off with all this buzz about flexibility and the doing the fundamentals right but we seem to have gone back to 2013/early-2014

callum mills has never played in defence before this year. Lucky for them its worked out big time tho. Its a bit like shuey in his 2011. Some players can be moved into new positions and still have an impact. I wouldn't mind duggan moved to a half back flank when he isnt playing in the midfield.

I agree with this, seems slow to make any moves at all this year. Letting Docherty run around loose all day seemed a bit dumb to me, especially in the last when they were running all over us.

You obviously haven't read the Post on this board suggesting Tony Shaw as football manager for west coast

I have no idea why he is persisting with schofield. has been crap the last month or so. Made a good make shift big kpd last year but with emac back surely Schofield has to go out on form. Maybe time in the 2's might even wake schofield up. He has become too complacent this year.

Coach is a bit of a worry. Doesn't show a lot of passion. Hey, isn't that a bit like the team yesterday?

Hard for simmo when blokes are missing regulation handballs and miss kicks under no pressure. We are winning enough ball to do serious damage but our disposal is terribad. We are turning so many postive plays into turnovers or stoppages with poor skills and poor decision making. I can understand why he seems increasingly bemused by how we are going.

We played Gaff in his debut season on the wing straight off the bat. Why? Because we were shit.

It's almost like the club refuses to acknowledge our midfield is terrible and are simply going to back a 30yr old Matt and an immature fool like Masten to turn things around.

Also playing class acts like Hutchings and McGinnity rather than the next generation is bound to end well.

Actually we played him as the sub in the vast majority of his early games. And made a prelim that year.

I believe sheed and duggan will make a huge difference to the team. A touch of class to dictate and deliver to the forwards.

We are great down back atm,
Forward line is stacked,
But out method of going forward is shocking

As much as I hate to say it, am inclined to agree. He's being too conservative/timid this year. Call it what you like. The whole club has been out of sinc all year for whatever reason.

Maybe it's time to bring in Giles - if Scotty is still a bit sore could play Giles as the main ruck with Scotty in his previous role. Worth considering seeing as Simmo states Giles is better as No 1 ruck.

They can play in other roles and do, but they are being wasted there and that accounts for their lower impact where as Priddis cannot play other roles. You cant bag a player for not dominating in a role he's never played, particularly when he goes down to a lower level and is played in his normal role and then dominates again.
The problem is we have club favourites like Masto and Priddis who are protected and therefore we dont always get to see what the youth can do when played in the roles they were recruited for. I can guarantee you we will not win a premiership with Priddis.
When was the last time Priddis was tried in another position? Could he be tried as a forward pocket? Just clutching at straws I guess.
