What I want, which won't happen...

Out :

Macmillan - Kid has run his race for mine, had a couple okay games this year, really starting to become a massive liability, his inability to stick tackles, coupled with his mediocre disposal, and 8 clangers on Saturday night, means he is a definite drop for me. If he is still in the side next week, I think there is no longer any question that he is Brads Golden Boy.

Wright - Needs to go down to the VFL and dominate, has been a shadow of himself last year, obviously seriously lacking confidence. Needs to regain some form.

Adams - Serious form slump. Lacking confidence, lacking the spark he once had, not kicking goals. Just seriously needs some time in the VFL to get back to his old ways, crazy to think he was a top 3 B&F player.

Sierakowski - Not up to AFL standard, doesn't really offer much for mine.

In :

Gysberts - Done more then enough at VFL level to gain a call up, most games for Weribee he's been in the mid 20 disposal count, will add another contested ball winner to our ranks with JZ out.

Jacobs - 1 more contested ball winner is not enough for mine, so Jacobs would be next in. Jacobs can spend a bit of time in the middle, as well as rest forward. Had some absolutely dominant games at VFL level, similar to what Cunnington did last year, deserves another crack.

Brad McKenzie - Played very well at VFL level, has improved a lot, still a light frame, but we could seriously use his kick, especially against Fremantle, breaking their defensive zone, will come down a lot to ball use, Brad is the best kick in the team, gets a chance.

Garner - Play him as the sub, hasn't done much at VFL level, but with the bye, should have another week of rehab and be 100%. He's a ruthless competitor, so why not?

I'd have obviously put Levi as first in, but it's just not going to happen, he won't be at North Melbourne next year, it's just an unfortunate reality. Had Ayden not been injured, him in for Spud would have been my first change, but we all know that he is another that Brad obviously has feelings of negativity towards.

Excellent post, these 4 changes must be made for the freo game.
I'd probably also bring Daw in

so something like
out: macmillan, wright, adams, sierakowski
in: gysberts, mckenzie, jacobs/greenwood, garner/daw

Realistically there is no chance of my post coming true unfortunately.

In fact the only change I can see from that will be Sierakowski, which is a f***** joke.

It won't make a difference as to whether we beat the top sides either.

It would be Majak MK II. The kids would all show promise against GWS, the annual jizzfest would ensue, then we would all come crashing back to earth after the Freo game.

There's no way I would be playing McKenzie or Garner yet.

i'll be shocked and appalled if there isn't at least 3 changes next week. Can't keep carrying players like macmillan, sierakowski, wright, adams, firrito, mcmahon etc.

I said that after the Adelaide game.

Loathe though I am to quote Duritz:

Just listened to a Carlton caller ring SEN and rant on with facts about Carlton this year, in a very aggressive fashion. He said such things as "We have used the most players in the AFL this year, outside of the two expansion clubs."

That didn't sound right to me, so I checked it out. Turns out, it wasn't right. Nowhere near it, in fact.

Here's the number of players used in 2013, up to today, 13th June:

TEAM no used
Greater Western Sydney 39
Brisbane Lions 37
Melbourne 37
Collingwood 36
St Kilda 36
Western Bulldogs 36
Carlton 35
Gold Coast 34
Essendon 33
Geelong 33
Port Adelaide 33
Richmond 33
West Coast 33
Adelaide 31
Hawthorn 30
Sydney 30
Fremantle 29

North Melbourne 28

Out-

Adams - looks like a scared little kid pissing his pants in the sandpit. Has no confidence in those shoulders.

Willy S - Just not gonna get there. he's average.

Sam Wright - just looks slow and out of form. go back and dominate VFL and work with a sprint coach.

In-

Jacobs - He could be a real gun for us i think with some serious game time. deserves a few in a row to see where he's at.

Daw- Straight swap for Willy s mentioned above.

Gysberts- Deserves a chance to have a good crack ! see how much he has developed because he has talent !

Garner to debut against GWS the week after ! see how he rates against some good young kids ! have got one on our hands here i reckon ! with some confidence could be anything

Agree, i thought we would have made a lot of changes after that catastrophe but instead we only made 1 change and kept giving games to the underperforming macmillan, adams, wright, mcmahon etc.

i would hope the match committee have learnt their lesson and start dropping a lot of the players who are giving us nothing and reward the players in good form, enough is enough changes need to happen

Great post - 100% agree. I have been ok with not making a lot of changes but Wright, Adams, Sierra and McMillan can't go to WA. Wright and Adams need to find form in the two's not in the one's. They are floundering - McMillan and Sierra don't look up to it.

Not only is 28 players too few to have played for a side that isn't performing well, three of those are Jacobs, Tarrant and Harper, none of whom played after Round 3. So since then, we've had 25 players - the 22 out there for the Suns match as well as Ziebell, Daw and Anthony (LA only played Rounds 1, 2, 4 and 5). That is ridiculous, especially when there are good players in the VFL who're yet to play this year.

He had no matchup. With the conditions the way they were he should have been a late withdrawl. After the first quarter he was put into the forward line....and we know how many times it went down there after quarter time! It isn't exactly his fault. The whole forward line have nothing to answer for considering it didnt go in in the 2nd half!

Nothing will change until a loss to Freo nails the season shut.

Nothing will change if we win against Freo because the season is not shut.

If we lose I will expect to see the 'organic' development continue with some fertiliser over the rest of the season with the vain hope we can at least **** up Dons-Blues-Tigers finals aspirations.

It's been raining a lot lately, hopefully the boys have been training in it..

I quite liked our football in the last month of 2009.

The win over St Kilda was a great balance of concentrated defence and flair in attack. Give him a go on a 1 year deal with a directive to be super-competitive. That fails, we go to market for a bigger name with our 'war chest'.

Too easy.

Contrary to popular opinion I don't think Brad is a mercenary, he's a decent guy and if things continue slipping to shit he'd probably fall on his sword.

No hard feelings and although unlikely Tef's suggestion of him taking on an alternative role would be worth trying. He's doesn't come across as an egomaniac who would interfere from afar.
I disagree. He'll get his way if it kills him. Just give it another 12-18 months, I'm convinced you'll be pleasantly surprised.
