sorry for the intrusion just wanted to ask how ah chees form has been? at port he was the type to get 15/20 and 2 and dominate sanfl. regardless ill watch the game with intrest. Shame he couldnt debut earlier in the season

We're going with the B team to stick it up the AFL Junta. I remember how they got on Freo's case a decade a go when they sent a B team to tassie, the AFL hates it when a side choses to lose.

What are you talking about? Who would you put in that 22 that is available? Not our first choice team for sure but that is purely down to injuries and an AFL sanctioned execution.

I think this game has been written off by the MC and we will get pumped.

Again, who else could they pick? Partington is probably the only potential player that hasn't got a trip but he is hardly the distinction between having a red hot crack and giving up the ghost.

If you have seen the shit GWS have trotted out this year and watched WCE games then you must be hugely pessimistic to think we will get pumped. If we do lose I cant see it being a big margin.

Feels like we piss them off just by existing.
The AFL doesn't mind taking our money though to prop up some of the lesser sides! Would love to tell the AFL to get ****** and not to give them one cent more until such time they start treating our Club with a bit of respect.

Ah Chee should consider himself a little lucky to be selected. That's not too that's he can't play, because he has been ok in the WAFL without setting the world on fire, but, on form there is no way he should have got a start ahead of Partington.

And given that Partington wasn't even given a start or named as an emergency after really good WAFL form, and the absence of shuey, sheed, Jetta and Petrucelle, he may as well start packing his bags
Unfortunately for Partington he just plays one way, ie forward if the play. Have a feeling that he may have been instructed to address the defence side of his play and perhaps nothing has changed, the result being he doesn't get selected because of this? Just guessing of course but I have heard something along those lines.

Hasn't shown that sort of form at East Perth yet but he's only played three games and at least a couple of them were on limited minutes

He's been doing the 15-20 thing in the WAFL for the last 2-3 weeks as he came back from a somewhat serious ankle injury in the pre-season. Possibly on limited minutes.

He'll most likely be playing HFF for us against the Giants with a few midfield rotations thrown in, so he's unlikely to dominate possession-wise tomorrow.

His really good form constituted one game, after missing three weeks with a hammy. Probably not quite curtains just yet.

Partington's kicked a goal in each of his past 8 WAFL games (15 in total). Looking closer at it, he's actually averaging 26 possessions and nearly 2 goals a game in those 8 games.

Granted, he had a three week injury, but a 31 possession 2 goal game in his comeback does kind of suggest he is pretty fit at the moment. By comparison, Ah Chee is rewarded 16.7 possessions and 5 marks a game in three games following a more serious ankle injury. Both are forward/mids. For some reason Ah Chee's attributes are clearly preferred.

Wherever you sit on the Partington debate (in the past I've said I don't think he will be a good AFL footballer) there is clearly an aversion to playing him at AFL level from the MC. In recent times, we've seen the following players granted games at AFL level despite form that could only be described as 'decent': Venables, Rioli, Cole and Ah Chee. It's clear they think these guys are talented and worth pushing into the side for the sake of development (which I support, although the jury is still out on BAC).

With Partington, there is clearly something they don't like about his game. I suspect there is a touch of the Shane Nelson's about him: racks up a ton of the ball but who cares? My guess is he lacks the defensive game and they see him as a small, defensive forward at AFL level. If he is kicking two goals a game it's hard to really argue he's not hurting the opposition.

TLDR: The club clearly don't rate Parto and the non-selection as emergency is telling, surely he gets traded at the end of the year for a fourth rounder.

He has still had a superior output to Ah Chee in the WAFL.

That's why Simpsons stance on Partington continues to puzzle; if it is his defensive running that's the issue, other guys fall into the same boat and are seemingly exempt.

If it's his WAFL fitness and form, he should be ahead in the selection que to Ah Chee, on form, as it stands right now (that may very well change over the course of the season, as Ah Chee builds his own form and Fitness)

What I think we can all agree on is for whatever reason, Simpson absolutely does not seem to rate him at all.

I concur with this post

Initially I thought the selection of Bayok as an emergency over Partington was a bad sign, but other than Schofield (who's probably on standby for Gov) the emergencies have all come out of left field. I think the club has used East Perth's bye to give a bit of traveling and team bonding experience to guys that otherwise wouldn't get any. It's hard to imagine Rotham is ahead of Watson or Mellen is ahead of Brander in the queue at the moment.

I may be wrong [dont ask my wife ] but i think he plays bruise free footy and is not at all defensive minded.Any nerds out there got a breakdown on where he gets his possessions?

My personal theory is that if Schofield isn't over there, then Gov is a lock to play.

But I don't know the answer to your question.

I think Schoey's confirmed as being there, not sure about Gov though.

I'm fully expecting a tweet from Patrick Keane shortly saying he's been removed from the 22 and replaced by Schoey.

Yeah it wouldn't be surprising. Taking a no risk approach is definitely the way to go.

We are unlikely to win but I wouldn't rule us out completely.

Parto and sneezer are not same players, they do not play the same role, so they should not be compared( to my limited knowledge,I am happy to be proven wrong). I would say at this point Sneezer will play HFF replacing Petch. I do not understand the comparison. Ainsworth is a better comparison, and MC decided to give him a crack.

I have heard mail Rotham is likely to play now and Tarir also.

Rotham parents are now flying over for the game
