I thought last week was Smith's last game in the hoops but turns out it's this week. If you're losing the hitouts regardless then at least Stanley runs hard.

Excited to see Parfitt back and Narkle has been doing more than enough for a shot. Would have liked to have seen Constable come in, I'll be keeping an eye on the late ins.

How did Smith stay in?

Agree with you regarding Stanley - even if he's not winning in the ruck, he does do his best to work his opponents over by running to dangerous spots (even if his set shots have sucked recently). Can't remember the last time Smith's done that, or if he's even capable of it.

I actually thought Henderson did well last week. But it's just hard you can't play 3 big key defenders..

I wonder what Henderson thinks eg in what's his plans for 2020...
You can play 3 big defenders if you dont have so many medium defenders.

We have often played 3 tall defenders.

Scarlett, Harley, egan

Scarlett, Taylor, lonergan

Lonergan; Taylor, rivers.

The reason we dont currently play 3 is we also have 3 medium slow defenders in kolo, Henry and Stewart. I'm not averse to dropping both Henry and kolo to fit in Henderson. Hendo is currently a better player then both when fit.

Henry and Stewart are in no way slow

I'm sorry people but Bews is still in and so he should be, clearly the MC rate him as best 22 and hopefully he's played in his best position, which is BP.

O'Connor is also best 22 right now but not at the expense of Bews and unless Tuohy starts to get more offence back into his game then I'd be replacing him with O'Connor because Bews is a much better defender.

If they end up replacing Bews with O'Connor then I'll eat my words but I don't see it happening.
So how are we going to move the ball quickly from defence if we get rid of touhy. Regardless of form he is literally the only player in defence who can kick and help move the ball forward quickly.

Stewart slow...clueless.

Take out Stewart if you like it doesnt change the point. I listed him more cos of position type. He is a medium who has filled in as a key position player. He ain't in the team to be a small rebounder breaking lines even if he is capable of it from time to time. An absolute gun that he is.

For me its either Bews OR O'Connor. After everyone on the Geelong FB page told me about how we have to keep him in to lockdown on the oppositions smalls, but it was their smalls that killed us V Fremantle.

Offers little offensively, and unless he has a full game job like V Betts, I don't get his value in the team.

This weekend against North Melbourne I would suggest he doesn't really have a natural opponent.

Also please stop disliking all my posts. I have self esteem issues.
but I like it.
Instant feedback for nonsensical remarks.
Says the poster starting threads asking why we have slow ball movement.
Wrong. Didn't ponder why or how.
Just wanted them to stop.

Logic and comprehension struggles tonight??

Prediction: we will win but will play very crap.

Will be mightily surprised if this prediction works out. If we play as you describe, I believe we will definitely lose.

North are playing with spirit and will not be an easy kill at all.

Shaking my head that Smith is still in, but other than that I'm very happy with the changes. Good to see they're not afraid to drop senior players instead of shoe-horning them into the side as they have tended to do the past.

Glad to see Parfitt back (pardon the pun) - I think we've missed his tackling and ability in congested situations.
Smith is back in cos they are resting Stanley for finals. He was good for the first half but has been cooked of late so the rest will do him and us good

That's a massive pot at Scott. I love them more then most but even I wont blame scott completely for the slow ball movement. Its partly the personal. Not just game plan.

"Jack Henry is slow." lol!

Kolo, Henry and Stewart are slow? OMG, when I first read that I thought it was a joke.
Kolo and Henry are quick, Stewart is super quick, I would say that he is one of the fastest at the club.
When you say something so ridiculous it removes any semblance of credibility you may have got for
other comments.

Henry could have been an Olympic hurdler (even if only the hurdles in the decathlon), so that tells you something.

Not capable, can't even bend over to pick up the ball. Who can forget the atrocious attempt at running with the ball in the midfield last week, free but with zero peripheral vision and gets nabbed. This game is surely a certain swan song for him, and merely reflects the two game mindset. If they are both getting thrashed, I'll choose the one who can give it off and at least hit the scoreboard- when was the last time Smith kicked a goal?
