Prediction Changes v Richmond

I don't have the best memory but I can't recall a single game that Marshall played much of a role in helping us win. However I'm all for bringing in another tall - I was very keen to have Frampton in this week and I feel we need Howard to go back to help against Lynch and Riewoldt. That set up isn't going to happen now and I certainly wouldn't want Marshall to come in as a KPF, definitely only as a third mobile tall...so, whatever happens I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like the team structure this week, which is par for the course.

Can't believe the club won't challenge Frampton's suspension! Has there been any word on this?
Accepted it

I reckon Marshall has showed steady improvement with his outside 50 role in the last 2 weeks. He sorta did it the 3 games before that (Sturt/Nord/North) but didn't do much. (kicked 2 goals in 3 weeks and averaged like 14 touches a game)

After that though,

21 touches vs westies, kicked 4 behinds though, wasn't his day when kicking for goal, but was involved.

24 touches vs crows reserves was his best game of the year apart from the game where he kicked 4 goals vs North in round 3.

It's a tight contest between Broadbent, Lienert and Garner to replace Burton, I suppose whoever trains the best throughout the week will get to have a go.
But I think Broadbent will get the spot, either way, it shouldn't hurt to add as much experience to the defence as possible.

I thought he got moved to the backlines later in the Crows game, saw him get a bunch of cheap possessions passing back and forth across half back. Wouldn't be against leaving him there to get him involved more and gain some confidence.

He did, but I reckon when the ball is in his hands 70-80m out from goal that's where he's at his best.

I'd be loath to go back to Lienert, he lacks physicality and provides no run or creativity.

I think if we're going to bring Marshall back in we should drop a tall, which is why I think Westhoff should play in the SANFL this week. Marshall can do Westhoffs role better so long as he can mark.

However similar to Burton he has good height, I don't think that alone will be enough but depending on who he has to play on we might need his height.

Long term I feel it serves more purpose to play Marshall down there the last 6 weeks then it does Westhoff. Just for Todd's development. I thought he showed a bit late in the Maggies game on Saturday.

Out: wines, sutcliffe, ebert, burton, rozee(if rested, looked worn out last week)
In: houston,duursma,woodcock,broadbent, marshall(if rozee,rested)
Cant see drew or atley in the team with boak, rockliff, spp and gray
Westhoff or howard to drift back if extra height needed.

I'm not sure Duursma gets back in. If Hinkley is to be believed, he was not rested, but dropped for poor form. It's a strange message to send that someone would be dropped for poor form, not play SANFL, then straight back in. But who knows, I don't understand a lot of our selections.

Wouldn't be the first time this year. Butters was dropped, didn't play SANFL, recalled the following week IIRC.

I think the fact that the game is at the MCG makes Duursma a must pick given his running capacity.

Out Rockliff in atley
Out Burton in garner
Out Butters in woodcock
Out Motlop in Houston
Out Sutcliffe in lienert.
Out Dixon in ladhams
Out Wines in mayes
Out Jonas in broadbent

Anymore, probably...

Sadly mist if this will not happen due to the numpty we have as our senior coach.

Picking Duursma would make Hinkley a massive hypocrite after he said he was dropped cause of form. Duursma has to come through the SANFL like Westhoff and others had to when they were dropped for form.

I can’t get sucked in anymore. This 9 week W/L streak has done my head in.

I seriously don’t care if we miraculously win this game, because I know the rubbish that will follow the week after.

I’m not being pro-Hinkley when I’m saying this, but I have little faith in this playing group. The most inconsistent, unreliable and flaky group of players. It’s really hard for me to get behind these guys. They outright refuse to string 2 respectable or competent performances together.

Yes, Crap gameplans hurts our chances of winning games, but when you combine a crap gameplan with a crap effort, we are just wasting everyone’s time.

I have little faith in anyone that is currently employed by the PAFC.

Marshall has done nothing to warrant selection. I agree with the sentiment that he is not a key forward. And Frampton, why oh why do you do this to yourself. Would have been the perfect inclusion.

Meh. Billy isn't getting picked while Dougal and Charlie are playing forward. He did Ken a favour by not being available this week.

Hinkley said Duursma was dropped due to form? Unbelievably stupid decision.

Don't care anymore. Just lose so nobody at the club can use the excuse "yeah well we played well last week we just need to work out what's going wrong...." Bullshit. The sooner this happens the sooner people can stop still rating us in the media, we can move Hinkley on and continue.

Need Marshall in the ones.

Carlton persisted with harry mckay when at times he was unsighted and getting carlton grade midfield delivery and now hes one of the best contested markers in the game

Norf persisted with larkey who had 0 touches on debut and hes more than decent now

Brisbane persisted with a 83kg flag pole hipwood and now hes a star of the game and brisbane are in the top 3

if ****ing carlton and north can breed star forwards simply by playing them in the senior side even if they get crap stats its worth it in the long run. Theres no way we play finals this year anyway

So a forward who clunks marks and scores a goal in his first game, then scores three goals and 14 possessions in the second game should not be persisted, but scores s point in the third game and gets dropped and should not be persisted with?
