No, purely based on Ken's comments about some players form having been average for a while, and his tendancy to make selections based on a longer term trend line than a poor week.

I can't see any of Ah Chee, S.Gray or Hartlett being dropped as they are only one game removed from playing decent footy.

Pittard on the other hand has been poor all season. Seems the obvious player to cull.

Possibly, but I saw his name regularly amongst the Port Bigfooty votes versus the Hawks. Admittedly not top 5 by the coaches. I won't mind if he goes because being used for only 60% TOG is a waste but he was pretty good against the Hawks.

So DBJ out for Houston? Not unwarranted but bloody hell he's been a fair bit better than Hartlett overall this season when it comes to actually defending & rebounding.

Can't see Ken dropping HH or Jasper, doesn't have it in him.

**I would keep Young for the moment but tell him if he doesn't gut run and provide a marking option along the HF line then he'll find himself replaced by Palmer or another SANFL bolter faster than Taylor Swift getting mic-grabbed by Kanye.

From the team that faced Essendon, this team would require the following changes

OUT: Pittard, Hartlett, Westhoff, Ah Chee, Toumpas
IN: Houston, Eddy, Howard, Atley, Palmer/Young

Five big, speculative, look-to-the-future changes. Maybe it doesn't come off, but we sure as hell would learn something about the new players in question, and in the long run it's not going to matter given the colossal cluster**** this season is looking like turning into. As for the droppees, - they've all had their cards marked except Pittard, who I believe has potential to be in our best team if he can pull his finger out.

Unfortunately, I don't expect to see anything like these changes. Which is a great shame as the core of this team has great potential, but its abilities are being wasted by a coach totally unable to bring himself to make the hard calls.

That's not something we need.
We need a penetrating kick into the 50.
We need a ball carrier.
We need another outlet for a kick forward.

Neade isn't a terrible player at all, I like him. We just don't need his type atm, we need an Atley or a Howard.

If Neade is to play it should be instead of one of the Grays.

Jake Neade as an answer to our woes? Are you $&@/ing kidding me? Our midfield was comprehensively smashed and our "leaders" were nowhere to be seen. Our forward line is still disfunctional, but yet we bring in a 5 foot 5 small forward that can't crumb and barely manages a goal a game.

We are playing Brisbane at home and have a myriad of underperformers that we could make an example out of by dropping. Should we try out another tall target? Nah. What we need is more undersized forwards with poor skills and who else can we turn into a half back flanker this week? Can you imagine kicking 8 goals and then watching Neade get picked ahead of you? I don't know if I can be bothered going this week.

I can agree with that - I think he should replace sam. Sam is a midfielder and I like him but we have better midfielders. He's not a forward, Kenny even said it himself in 2015 yet he's back there again, I really don't understand.

Neade is still young and in my opinion still has time to improve, he's earnt a spot based on form in the Maggies.

No-one said Gus was the answer to our problems but he would've been an improvement on two other guys that are supposed to be playing the high half forward role.

Gus has many, many more runs on the board than Jake Neade along with better physical attributes. This is Jakes fifth year on the list and he's certainly no better than he was in his first. Time to try something new.

Defensive pressure has been an issue. Look too slow with Boak and RGray as our smalls. Don't mind the idea of Neade coming in.

I'd persist with AhChee in the middle as well. He's at a a point where we either persist or delist. Reckon he has enough weapons and the body shape to persist.

You could make a strong case for dropping any of DBJ, Hartlett and Pittard for Houston. None have set the world on fire. Pittard is nowhere near what he is capable of. Hartlett had a great game 2 weeks ago but has been predominantly average. DBJ has been neither good nor bad, mediocre all season.
