I’d replace S. Gray with Impey. Impey provides a point of difference both in the forward lines, and in short bursts in the midfield. Also, I know it’s fraught with danger to look a week ahead, but I see him as our best option to play as a defensive forward on Laird.

Atley isn't in our best 22 yet. He is close but needs a little more developmentPittard and Atley are in our best 22.
Where does Westhoff fit structurally?
Semi-preview thread until there is one.8 pages and we've won?
How did Palmer go? Rather him leading from the forward line then having Sam Gray trying to win an air ball. Not saying Gray was bad.Impey in the best for the maggies last week?
PORTADELAIDEFC.COM.AU'S best
Ladhams, Snelling, Drew, Bonner, Reynolds, Ah Chee, Impey
Would perhaps be good to see Monf get a run before the showdown, probably at the expense of S.Gray.
If HH cops a week.. Krak for mine.
But yeah, I'll leave it to the experts. Geez it's nice to have a bit of depth tho.
This is true in a sense, but in the back half of last year our smaller backline started to show that poise and was far better than the tall backline we'd played previously.
On Dan he just doesn't test the opposition like Pittard does. He isn't as explosive or line breaking as Pittard. Dan is looking the goods as a solid defender, but Pittard is looking like a likely AA. I know who I'm picking first.
If, and I mean if we were to drop someone he would be my first choice.Pittard and Atley are in our best 22.

Yeah, I am not sure who else can match up on Walters from last weeks team. Possibly DBJ.With no real lock down role needed imo for Freo (that will suit Monfries)
You ask yourself who is more of a concern (looking at Fremantle's back 6) for Ross Lyon, Sam Gray or Jarman Impey
To me the answer is Impey, so thats the only change
Westhoff is really starting to bug me in this "utility" role.
He either needs to play forward and demand a tall go with him that he can out run etc. Or move behind the ball at the end of each quarter or whatever..
Running around like a dog off a leash really is of no benefit. It's not like he racks up 20+ or has any hurt factor there. The idea sounds sexy of a 6' 7" wingman, but reality is a different story.
Gus plays this role wellSo many times we went long to an isolated Sam Gray and it just seemed odd, especially with Hoff playing peripherally loose.
PORT Adelaide's physical midfield trifecta of Ollie Wines, Brad Ebert and Sam Powell-Pepper will keep three-time best and fairest Robbie Gray playing predominantly in the forward line.
