My issue is that he does not offer himself as an option to the ball carrier. He has the height and endurance to get to a good position in the clear more often than he does.

Spot on.
That has always been my criticism of the Hoff. It was so frustrating during the Primus years when we were stuck at half back and he was jogging around at Hf.
That said, Ive given up on expecting that from him. He he's not the "kick it to me" type player but thrives on intercepts and loose ball gets. He does this really well ableit inconsistently.
We need 4 quarters of switched on footy from ya Hoff.

Speed is also debatable. Perhaps Gray quicker off the mark bur doesn't glide like Amon though.

For me both Amon and Sam Gray hold their spots.

Amon is arguably the best kick in our team, and yes his stats weren't great but each of his disposals was effective and his kicking for goal from outside 50 is glorious and a real weapon. This was all with 57% TOG, not sure why this was so low, but perhaps if playing significantly more than half the game those stats will be easier on the eye. 100% DE mind you ain't to bad either.

S Gray, gets in an under, provides pressure, shepherds when necessary. Yes he burns it a bit, but this will sort it self out especially on a bigger field with our forwards actually able to lead up. He finds the pill and has a bit of pace for his short demeanour.

For me, Westhoff is the one with his head on the chopping block should the coaches decide to make changes to last weeks team. We've got plenty enough talls in the team, and either we put in Impey for the Hoff now, or Hoff maintains his position until McMillan-Pittard is back, and then we make that change. Jasper and Houston (we have a problem) can interchange between half back and wing depending on how the game flows.

Krak just doesn't cut it best 22 anymore

What's the deal with Austin? is he coming back form the injury he got in the last round last year? Am thinking that his height and size could be very useful against the likes of Walker, Jenkins, Lynch etc in a couple of weeks.

Side note - Isn't it great to have these selection issues. Depth is great.

You realise Impeys biggest problem is his kicking, right? Lol

That and the fact he can't find the pill.

Of course, but I also have reasons why I'd have Impey in. S.Grays only real strength is getting hands on the ball and if he's going to dispose of it "like Impey" then I'd rather some extra pace and versatility in the team over Gray.
Hes much better 1v1 inside 50 and can go back and play a defensive role on one of Freos smalls.

Yeah, that was poor. Really we should be looking more harshly at the selection table on stuff like that than on low disposal counts or skill errors.

Na this is wrong, he had just sprinted the length of the field to provide an I50 option, and was burned by a team mates disposal.

It's all well and good to pick on chasing efforts sometimes, but you've got to take into context how hard they were working pre-chase, and Westy was working hard.
