Team Toni Pearen™
early i know, but lets get into it.

for mine;

IN: N.Buckley, T.Cloke, S.Pendlebury (?)
OUT: H.O'Brien, J.Cloke, S.Wakelin (?)

(thats assuming harry goes off the list??)

jason didnt offer enough, and to be blunt, he never will. he is done.

my match-ups;

Presti - Mooney
Clement - Kingsley
Wakelin - Playfair
Lockyer - Chapman
H.Shaw - Ablett

* reason for the ?'s - not sure how geelong setup their forward line re. talls. if they have 3 talls there regularly (mooney, playfair, kingsley) then wakes needs to play. if not, bring in pendles and move maxwell to playfair (could be risky, but maxy rarely lowers his colours once, let alone two weeks in a row).

pumped for this one. :thumbsu:

Heath Shaw on ablett- Thanks, but no thanks. Ablett has the class of a thousand men, while heath has been good for us, we don't want to shatter the kid in his 15th game of league footy- he aint ready for that job yet.
- A better matchup for ablett would be, as in previous years, benny johnson or ryan lonie. Wat justifies this, is that if gazz lines up on a HFF, that works in our favour, as we can expose him on the rebound,w ith those 2 Half backs averaging about 20+ possies a game (in BJ's case about 25???). Although gazz is good in attack, lets see how good is defensive side to his game is.

Presti and mooney is fair, i dont think theres anyone else to take mooney. If he plays ruck for the majority then that ultimately favours us. But with king in and playing well on friday i believe, that won't happen.

Wakelin and Playfair, wakes has more class that playfair, he would do a job on him. What iw ould be worried about is playfairs speed on the lead- that could worry wakes and ultimately hurt us.

Lockyer on Chappy good match up. Tarks has the class, speed and smarts to take chappy, whos in sintilating form at the minute.

Overall, match ups out of 5= 3.5-4

Didn't you want Shaw on Hird for Anzac Day?

um hoggy, im not sure if you know me, but i'm johnson_26-- _!! not johnson#26!!

and no, wouldn't dream of playing heath on hird- hirdy too much class.

Clement on Chapman, Johnson on Ablett. Close those two down and we will struggle to kick a winning score.

If he plays ruck for the majority then that ultimately favours us.

Mooney won't be rucking with both King and Ottens in the side. I'd like to use him to run with Fraser around the ground, King and Ottens aren't mobile enough.

Changed:

Ins: N.Buckley, T.Cloke
Out: B.Caracella, J.Cloke

Match-ups:

Presti - Mooney/Kingsley
Wakelin - Mooney/Kingsley
Clement - Chapman
Maxwell - Playfair
H.Shaw - S.Johnson/Other small forward
Johnson - S.Johnson/Other small forward
Lockyer - G.Ablett

Have Presti on whoever sits in the square. Have Johnson and Shaw rotate from the left-over small forward and midfield roles. Lockyer to take Ablett wherever he goes. Not sure who will get the resting ruckman for Geelong? May need to utilise Trav in defence.

Milburn - Tarrant
Scarlett - Rocca

This will be tough.

Firstly is rocca going to play? if not i would get cc in! if yes i would still get cc in because king was dominant in the ruck against the saints, and i reckon that is what won them the game!

Secondly i would only drop obrien if he is going back onto the injury list, and i know he didnt play to well last night but hey we can afford to carry a "trainee" in our backline!

So

in: C2, Buckley(if ready, else yakka), pendles
out: J.clo, Caracella, one of the tall defenders for pendles (depending on matchups)

p.s i would like to see r.shaw have another game at willi next week so he can be back for the bulldogs game!

Out- Caracella, J Cloke, O'Brien (back on to the rookie list?)

In- Buckley, T Cloke, Pendlebury/Iacobucci/Rowe - any of the three

Rhyce back for the Bulldogs game. Rusling back at Williamstown.

The boys will be very tired after last night's match. But, no excuses, though.

Got to have a real ruckman in the team. Depending upon todays form (which Cloke was in the best players???) somebody has to come in, either Richards, T2 or T3.

I thought J Cloke didnt play that badly. It was just his selection in the ruck that cost us. He did some good things in defence. Maxwell was ordinary for the second week running and O"Brien has to be demoted so maybe Jason will get a reprieve.

Pendlebury MUST play.

In T Cloke Buckley Pendlebury
Out Maxwell O"Brien Caracella

Cam Cloke or Richards to replace Rocca if required.

Lockyer on Ablett.
Yes he carved him up last time.
Shaw can play on Chapman, and provide rebounding. Another option for Heater is S.Johnson.

I would consider bringing in R.Shaw just for support as a small defender, with O'Brien gone.
We will need Wakelin, if anything to free Clement on to one of Geelong's dangerous smalls.
J.Cloke may or may not have a matchup down back.
C.Cloke has to come in IMO.

IN: C.Cloke, Pendlebury (or Rhyce), Buckley
OUT: J.Cloke, O'Brien, Carracella

Maxwell vs. Playfair
Wakelin/Clement vs. Mooney
Presti/Wakelin vs. Kingsley
Clement vs. S.Johnson
Shaw vs. Chapman
Lockyer vs. Ablett

B. Lockyer, Presti, Clement
HB: Maxwell, Wakelin, Shaw

C: Didak, O'Bree, Johnson

HF: Thomas, C.Cloke, Tarrant
F: Davis, Rocca, Buckley

R: Fraser, Licuria, Swan

Int: Pendlebury, Lonie, Holland, Burns

I hate games after playing at Subi. Will be tough.
Of course it will be hard but not because of where the last game was played, but because the opposition is not a bad side, and they should be desperate to stay on the winning list. Many teams win after playing at Subiaco, and it will be a full week by the time we play, and Collingwood is fitter now than in some time. It may have been partly the reason that Buckley and T.Cloke didn't play, to keep a couple of players fresh.

In: Buckley, T.Cloke, Pendlebury
Out: Caracella, J.Cloke, O'Brien

B:Johnson, Maxwell, Clement
HB: H.Shaw, Prestigiacomo, Lonie
C: Thomas, O'Bree, Didak
HF: Burns, T.Cloke, Tarrant
For: Buckley, Rocca, Davis
Foll: Fraser, Lockyer
Rov: Licuria
Inter: Holland, Wakelin, Swan, Pendlebury

Harry off the list, C1 gone, perhaps forever, Caracella out and after that it’s a struggle.
I’d like to see 4 ins but 4 outs would be a bit harsh. Buckley obviously has to be an in if fit. A ruckman will be added – probably Richards but I’d go for C2. If C3 is fit he’d be an addition. I’d love to see Penders play.

What I think will happen:
In: Buckley, Richards, C3
Out: C1, Carcella., Harry.

What I wish would happen:
In: Buckley, C2, Penders
Out: C1, Maxwell, Harry

You cant drop the entire half back line. That is a dilemma because Harry has the form but must be dropped. Maxwell is sadly out of form. Jason is just no good. Personally I'd play C1 in his correct and only position and give him one last chance to prove himself as a defender. His form in the VFL as a backman has been good. MM did him no favours on Saturday.

This is all assuming (and everybody seems to be assuming this) that O'Brien has to go this week. Is that actually true or are we guessing??

IN: N.Buckley, ?.Cloke (either one)

OUT: H.O'Brien, J.Cloke

Emerg: R.Shaw, J.Cloke, Iacobucci
