Some may say, don't make rash changes. But these aren't rash. There are reasons why we've won two games this year.

Out:
Hayes, Ray, and Jones.
In:
Ledger, Wright (if he's not fit, then Murdoch) and Saunders.

Out: Jones (omitted), Milne (omitted), Newnes (rest), Hayes (inj)

In: Armitage, Saunders, Dunnell, Curren (upgrade)

Wright: i am guessing will still be out, but needs a few games for Sandy to get confidence back up.
Murdoch: could be instead of Dunnell but think Sam needs a go.
Ledger: if Curren isn't upgraded then he should come in
Blake: should only come in if a snr backman goes out due to injury

The rest: need to show something for Sandy.

We still need our senior guys in there to guide the young ones. Dal showed signs (at times) of being able to get past tag as Lower is no mug.

Lets get radical (and get Boyd)...

In: Ledger Lee Murdoch Saunders Armitage White Curren (u/g)

Out: Hayes Riewoldt (inj.), Ray dal Santo Jones Maister Milne (time has caught the Tipper)

Saad not great, Gwilt ok until the last quarter when he was diabolical... Joey's miss killed us...

How far away is Wright?

FB: Roberton // Gwilt // Geary
HB: Newnes // Stanley // Dempster
CR: Montagna // Murdoch // Ledger
RK: Hickey // Armitage // Steven
HF: Curren // White // Siposs
FF: Saad // Lee // McEvoy
Int: Ross Webster Fisher Saunders

In: Blake, two young, fast, strong mids
Out: Ray, Maister, Hayes

Dal Santo moved to the forward flank. Slowww but skills so great!
Mcevoy moved into defense. He's not a ruckman, lets face it.
Dempster moved into the middle. Someone needs to step up and lay a tackle and win the dam ball.
Blake into the Ruck. Is a ruckman. Just a shame he's not a tad taller but he'll always give a contest.
Jones to focus on clearances, not tagging.

What about watters and his coaching. Does not make any moves. Totally inflexible !!!!!

spot on. Had the opportunity to move Stanley fwd or into ruck and change our structure and just continued with a same old moves.

have you ever thought that maybe he is looking to the future and is more interested in getting game time into the kids and seeing how they stand up to a close fought game under pressure

its not all about the wins right now

What about trying gwilt or fisher or someone else ....do something !!!!!! Look at Geelong ,hawks etc. they all move their players if things are not going well ...

but it is about developing a winning culture and a sense of doing what you need to do in those moments to scrap out a win and not just conceding like we did. Am all for looking to the future and getting game time into kids but could have been an opportunity to see what they could do in certain spots.

It's not all about the wins right now ......hmmmmmmm haven't you been reading the responses ....I am not saying don't play the kids. But for watters to make some changes during the game and not be be so predictable ,,,, do something. We just lost to a side with less experience and have won one game in nineteen. That is not acceptable !!!!!

You make sure you collect the wins that are there for the taking when you have 53 inside 50s to 39, and accept the odd bad loss against a good team. Tonight wasn't acceptable.

I think we need to stop wasting time with older players who aren't up to it and aren't part of our next finals side. We also need to try and beat teams with run, skill and intensity because we're the smallest, most fragile playing group in the AFL.

Out: Hayes (inj), Jones, Maister, Milne, Gwilt, Hickey, Ray
In: Armitage, Ledger, Lee, Curren, Simpkin, Wright, Dunell

B: Dempster, Simpkin, Wright
HB: Fisher, Stanley, Roberton
C: Geary, Armitage, Webster
HF: Montagna, Riewoldt, Dunell
F: Saad, Lee, Siposs

Foll: McEvoy, Steven, Ross
Int: Curren, Dal Santo, Ledger, Newnes

We need to find out if Ledger, Curren and Lee are any good. Simpkin had a great season at AFL level last year and with match fitness would surely get back to that form.

In hindsight I'm somewhat glad we lost to the Bulldogs. If we had have won we'd be thinking "the senior players are still strong enough to keep us competitive blah blah blah etc.." In reality we are an absolute rabble and will need 3-4 years of top 5 draft picks to get us up into the finals again.
