Be an interesting game this one.

Your Blokes will be desperately wanting a win.

Our Blokes will be desperately wanting to show decent form against a legit finals side.

Should be a bloody good game.

No it won't.

We know the result already.

Preordained by the football Gods and their shit sense of humour.

I mean 92 points in the year we won the flag.

**** me.

Have I missed something. Has Krakouer been up graded to the senior list from the rookie list? Seems to be a lot of people calling for him as an in.

What did you guys expect from Redden ? The guy has been out for what seems a decade with severe injury and people are putting more shit on him then an old style outhouse! It will take him some time to get his groove on, at least 4 or 5 games is my thinking. A few long term listed players need to pull a finger out of their Coitus Maximus before giving the big fella so much shit.

Boak needs to stick a red hot poker up some of these guys clackers and demand action and not just talk. If Lobbe is fit then bring him in, if not give redden another go, either Oshizal or Stewart to replace Impey if he is injured. Young or Moore I am not sure could handle the HBF possie. If the Krak was on the senior list I would give him a go at HBF.

People arent giving redden shit. People are criticising his selection after he hasnt played for 'what seems a decade'. Redden has a promising future. But needs some significant time in the reserves before he is even considered again

Firstly, the criticism shouldn't be leveled at Redden, but rather the coaches for arrogantly selecting him against a very good opponent when he had no form to merit it.
Secondly, while a red hot poker needs to be inserted into many of our players' clackers, the captain himself has had a pretty mediocre start to the season, irrespective of the number of ineffective disposals he may have accumulated. While he possibly is carrying that hip injury still, he needs to start leading by example especially in the midfield/stoppage stakes where we have been badly beaten in the first two weeks.

If there's something you can bet the house on, it's that Trevor Broke will lead us out of this quagmire #faif

You would call it arrogance ? I would call Ken a few names but arrogant isn't one of them :) They are trying to nurse Lobbe back to full fitness while going with a potential gun in Ryder and backing him in to improve dramatically as he gets more game time. Its a new midfield set up, it will take time for it to gel. Redden I think is worth the risk to give the guy some AFL game time, he is being rewarded for all his efforts over the last 2 years. If Lobbe is fit Reds would probably have not even been considered.

Travis is being scragged and blocked left rite and centre. We notice it more so when Lobbe's isn't playing, as heis the leader of the midfield, he blocks protects and in many cases acts like a small midfielder on the ground for second and third attempts. Two games in and we have not quite got it rite as yet but it will gel. Travis will work his way into it.

Perhaps shit was the wrong description, but go back and read some of the posts. Just my opinion, but I think its worth giving the lad some game time in the AFL. It will be better for us long term.

Why take that risk? PLaying redden WILL cost us games. We arent a rebuilding team anymore, we need to win!

Butcher will offer much more then redden up forward, And ryder will offer much more in the ruck.

Already given up on 2015?

Redden will benefit more in the SANFL where he wont get destroyed.

Funny how Travis Boak gets smashed around, targeted by multiple opponents and singled out for "treatment" and the expectation is that he must work harder. Travis knows this and for this reason you won't hear a word of complaint or an excuse from the man himself or the club.

Other players cop a little bit of treatment, wincing their way through games of football and pretty much his entire club along with the SA football media practically organise a petition to be sent to AFL House along with a "please explain".

Boak will sort it out.

I admit I used to be a Jasper hater as it seemed he didnt know the times to attack and the times to defend. Now hes looking like the next Birchall/Malceski/Shaw type that just can rebound and hit a target whilst being able to defend up a storm!
Our defense is rock solid and Jasper is the driving force (and unsung hero) at getting us from defense - attack so smoothly.

I found our selection of Redden to be a bit premature (by about 12 weeks).

The question is- If Lobbe is not right and Jacko doesnt get reported, why can't we go in with the same system as last year as Ryder our main ruck with backup from Jacko and Hoff? Seemed to work a treat last year with the extra midfielder in the team rather than a bigger player. I understand structure of the side once Lobbe is fit will be different BUT its not the end of the world if we dont have that 2nd ruck as North dont have a truly recognizable 2nd ruck anyways.

So can go possibly this way: OUT- Neade, Redden, Impey.....IN- Young, Moore, Krakouer or O'Shea > this structure gives us 2 extra contested and good running mids + experienced defender...we lose the extra ruck (but Hoff and Jacko can do a job) and small fwd but can be made up through rotations in the midfield (wingard, gray, young).

If Lobbe fit: OUT- Neade, Redden, Impey.....IN- Young, Lobbe, Krakouer or O'shea or Moore > This structure gives us an extra 1 or 2 mids + a great ruckman + experienced defender....Lose that small fwd but once again can make that up with rotations through Wingard/Gray etc.

I honestly dont want a heart attack this week hence why I havent selected Butcher but thats just for health and well being :)

Spot on finny.

Look at how he shakes hands with Crowley at the end of a game compared to Johnson/Harvey etc etc.

Boak just gets on with it.

He's no sook.

The main reason I want Butcher back in, is that I want the kind of football he played on Friday night to be rewarded. Last year he had some good games and I was screaming for his selection because we were too short, but excuses were made as to why he's not ready, didn't actually play that well, all his goals were purely accidental rah rah rah. The most common one was that despite leading the Ken Farmer, he hadn't been listed in the bests.

Well he wasn't listed in the bests again on Friday, despite everyone who watched him telling me they were impressed with his game. Last year I felt like the standard for him to be selected got ridiculously high by mid season to the point where he was never going to be picked, even when we went in with a side that was horrendously short, he didn't get a look in.

We know we need to develop him and we know he's a confidence player. When he performs, we need to reward him. If Lobbe isn't back, and all indications are that he wont be, we need to swap tall for tall and reward a guy who played well, has played well all season, and deserves to be called up as the next selected tall.

"Defence coach Matthew Nicks has nominated the untried Brendon AhChee as a major contender for his AFL debut after an impressive performance in the SANFL with the Port Adelaide Magpies against South Adelaide on Friday night"
Well that's interesting...what do you think about that move .. must have had a very good game

We lack medium height in our forward line. SO it could be a great opportunity for Brendon.

What I expected from Redo - was given his lack of fitness was to be played a FF for 20 minutes in the first quarter and then ruck for the last 8-10 minutes. In the second and third I expected the same sort of thing in the first 20 minutes of the second and third but splitting it between FF and the bench. I would have probably subbed him at 3/4 time if he was stuffed. But Impey doing a hammy early in the 2nd qtr meant he would not be subbed.

I didnt expect him to be the main ruck. Ryder should have done that. Unfortunately we believe that Ryder will be our KPF fill in. He wont. He will kick between 20-30 goals for the season. So Ryder tries to cover one hole and Redden is forced to cover another but he isnt ready yet. I hope by Rd 14 after the bye when we hit Sydney again we have a 100% fit Lobbe, Redden and Ryder and have a real selection dilemma. At the moment none of them are 100% fit.

Nahhhhh no way. Anyone that knows me, knows I NEVER give up ;) It has just begun!!! I still expect us to make top four and I am looking forward to seeing how we react.

How bad was it.. every turn over "******* Jasper!! Just get him off the ground!.. If Hinkley keeps this up he will lose his job soon enough!!"
You tell them lol
Jasper .. 23 kicks 11hb and 8 marks with 5 inside 50's
Which game was you watching as he was one of the best on ground geez

I expect Reddo to be dropped, but on the other hand ( assuming of course Lobbe is unavailable ) it wouldn't surprise me greatly if he gets another gig this week.

If Wacko Jacko has beaked someone ( so far unconfirmed ) and is subsequently found guilty, that obviously won't be good for the defence, or the ruck rotations. :(
