Surprising a few are saying Raines is not match fit.

He had a full pre-season and has only missed 3 games !!

Does that mean every player that does a hammy for example and is out for 3 weeks must return through the VFL.

Surely if he is over the injury, he would be able to step back into the seniors? (and its not as if you need to fight for a spot in our 22 at the moment)

I know there are a few Jackson fans here but I thought he was useless. All he offers us is a tagging role which is the role of last resort for someone who isn't up to it. We have other players that we can try as our tagger, and they have the benefit of being able to be swung to other positions. It's many years since he played well at FF in the pre season. Send him to the ressies.

I would have liked to have swapped Thursfield for McGuane, but someone was saying he got injured...?

There's dropping players because they played poorly and there is dropping players for punishment (not living up to expectations). Probably better to stick to the former reason where possible or you end up chopping your nose off to spite your face.

Yesterday's game was like when we played under Frawley - shit - so changes need to be made. That could mean throwing the team around a bit besides just omitting players. Perhaps starting Brown on the bench might be a better option this week.

You play Simmonds mostly in the forward 50m and you wonder why he didn't play well? You're crazy. Melbournes defence is easily our best section on the ground with plenty of options for simmonds.

If he played the whole match in the ruck, then he would have got 20 touches and flogged meesen around the ground..but for some reason Wallace thought he would try and exploit our defence even though we have Rivers (192cm), Frawley(193cm) and Martin (200cm) down there. ludicrous

Agreed. How this board expects Simmonds to replicate his past numbers when Graham is spending just as much (if not more) time in the ruck is beyond me.

Drop Simmonds, get thrashed next week against a very well-drilled North Melbourne outfit with very strong ruck stocks, have even more pressure applied to your club, your coach and your players.

I just can't believe that this board wants the club to throw in the towel after 4 games - your problems stem from senior players down on confidence, and dropping them to Coburg when they're most needed is not going to help in that regard - rather it will only act in reducing morale even further.

Your club has got itself into a vicious cycle - your confidence is low because you're losing games due to an inability to perform under pressure and you lose games because you're not confident.

The last thing your club needs to do is lose another game. Dropping Simmonds and Brown will result in added scrutiny on your team and ergo added pressure to perform, pressure which will be applied to less-seasoned and battle-hardened players, pressure which will result in a loss to North.

Footy is essentially a mental game, as I'm sure you all know - winning the mental game will go a long way to winning the match. Drop Simmonds and Brown and you will not win the mental game.

i think we need bring in two of either Hughes, Post, Schulz or Pattison to play up forward. This will then straighten us up as we'll have two big targets to kick to at FF and CHF, allowng Riewold to become the 3rd forward and Morton the 4th. i beleive that Coughlan (if fit) and Thomson should came in to help be more competitive around contests.

Bowden and Brown need to have a week at Coburg to show that nobody is safe and that you have to earn your spots. White will be dropped to try and regain some form for coburg and Tom Hislop will unfortunately make way if coughlan is fit.

Time to swing the axe - get some talls down forward - give Cogga and Tommo a chance to replace Jackson and Hislop in the side - and Jon has earned a crack, the backline definitely needs something done to it, so why not give the bloke a go?

If cousins or raines are fit to play - play them in Coburg, definitely cousins, was not physically ready to play round 1 so don't rush him back

dont rush cotchin back because if something happens to him. then all our hope will be shattered. we need to keep a close eye on Rance Vs Raines for the backline spot. dont get me wrong, i like the way Rance plays but is he really ready? i do however prefer Rance one on one because Raines cant play on anyone.
I don't think Connors can hold his place in the team. i would like to see thomson come in off the bench at some stage because he is an inside player - one that we need desperately.

Richmond needs to learn how to block for Deledio! his run and carry is going to waste unless we can support him through blocks.

He's one of maybe 3-4 players playing with heart. You don't drop someone like that, unless of course you're on the Richmond selection panel.
