Changes Vs. Saints

Hey guys,

I only caught the last quarter of this game (as I was at work until 4pm).
Who do you think will be dropped, and who played well in the VFL that could be a likely inclusion.

Presti and Obree should come back in (if fit), Johnson is out so who else may go out or come in?

Reid will go out for Presti and i don't know whats wrong with O'Bree but id just assume he'll come in for Johnson if hes fit. The rest is whoever will be dropped and we can't drop the whole team so i dunno.

I think we'll need Brown against the Saints... very physical team and Brown is the only Big man that resembles having a physical presence.

Todays weak effort may bode well for a far more determined, desperate approach next week, so maybe not all bad.

Maybe the corridor might be used more next week like vs Dogs

I know we won, but Jack Anthony and Luke Ball have been pretty ordinary for 2 weeks now. Reid and Johnson go out for sure, and I want Dawes or MaCarthy to play next week, they were both very good in the VFL.

We need pace and skill, maybe not so much next week against the Saints, but definitely for the 3 games after that.

Goldsack, Dawes, MaCarthy, Buckley and MaCaffer have to come into consideration over the coming weeks.

the bolded bit. worked out very well indeed, they will train and approach the whole week as if they have lost but we still got the 4 points

as for changes, noone should be dropped for bad form after rd 2. esp after being 2-0.

Thomas was one of the better players today (i only saw the last qtr, as mentioned in OP) as i have heard, so i wouldn't drop him. what about presti?

I wouldn't have thought we'd be wanting Dawes in, but if Matty's calling for him then I'm interested in the possibility. From memory you're more of a Rusling man right Matty and not a big advocate of Dawes? (correct me if I'm wrong). So if a critic is recommending he comes in then I'm interested to see what Dawes has done at VFL level (haven't seen a game myself).

L Brown won't go as MM likes his physical presence. In fact I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't get thrown in the middle to throw himself at some of those young mids and intimidate them a bit. Not sure if it would have made a big difference, but we needed to do something to change the flow of the game.

I'm not sure on Reid or PResti though. Presti is an instant in, but not if it risks him being out for 4+ weeks. We need to nurse him through to September. Even if Presti is fit do we still go with Reid for insurance and help nurse Presti through the game? Not sure myself.

Why does Cloke deserve to be dropped and not Anthony? They've both been pathetic the last 2 weeks. The 'decoy' excuse is hard to swallow when the ball is getting kicked to him so regularly and he's dropping marks left and right.

Anthony draws the best opposition defender, tackles, and has still kicked 3 goals in 2 matches. That said, he was rather shit today.

Cloke meanwhile, has made Everitt and MacDonald look like superstars in our two games, whilst doing nothing himself.

Not to mention Cloke was poor most of last year as well, whereas Jack kicked 50 goals as our no.1 forward. If not for Cloke's BnF 3 years ago, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
