Had to get back for Topkents player development advisory service.Welcome back
I don’t know if he is a pea heart, but he is definitely one paced and one dimensional.Hopefully the pea heart JKH is never seen again and as for the loser of every one on one contests he is in , if he cant stretch his half dozen kicks a game beyond 45 metres get rid too. What other club would trade for these? None...

I don't think it's a panic because two are forced changes Hogan and hunt, so there's weideman and hibberd then you still have to squeeze in melksham so that's jkh gone. That really only means two changes Pedersen and garlett which I think is justified. Pedersen's career is done so play Kent and I feel hannan puts in more effort than garlett which is almost more important in modern footy
This is the sort of game we would win, no pressure everyone's already written us off and away from home.

Fair enough. It just feels like we're rolling the dice to me, bringing in 3 blokes who haven't played seniors for an extended period on top of 2 others returning from injury. Hopefully it works out.
On Hannan, he seems to be the latest beneficiary of an enhanced reputation the longer he is out. He is being talked about as though he's some kind of forward pressure monster versus Garlett who is being described as a lazy cherry-picker despite averaging more tackles and contested possessions than Mitch.
I've been most confident of winning this week out of the final three games but couldn't put my finger on why that is. I think I've just found my answer.
Wouldn't say Hannan has an "enhanced reputation", moreso that people are tired of seeing Garlett phone it in while trading on an increasingly diminishing reputation as an elite small forward. I don't expect Hannan to come out and kick 3 or 4 goals on a regular basis, but I think he'll do the team things, pressure and do more than skive out the back waiting for the ball to deposit itself in his hands.
The concerning thing about Garlett is that against good sides he simply folds. For a player as experienced as he is, in s very young side, he offers zero leadership or physical presence when we need it. The bloke is a total front runner. This is actually precisely the enhanced reputation I'm talking about. For one who skives "out the back waiting for the ball to deposit itself in his hands", Garlett gets more hard ball than Hannan and in terms of "he'll do the team things, pressure", they're equal for one percenters and Garlett actually averages more for tackles, including inside 50. Garlett might be finished - at 29 years old, getting dropped for the second last game of the year would suggest he's probably done at the MFC - but I don't think Hannan will offer anything more than what people think he will, at least over an extended period of time.

Hogan, to me, doesn't look to have the intensity so to speak to be a centre half back. He works hard, that's obvious but I doubt his mental apptitude to be quality kpb. He's a super talented kid but his 'body language' still is questionable. Backline and Jesse isnt something I see being a fruitful endeavour.Hogan CHB
Weid and TMac up forward
If Weid comes good this is our best setup.

Interesting. I’m a former Watts apologist too. And now I feel hollow and can’t work out what to do. I thought I might become a Weed apologist instead, but he’s got to play seniors more often before I can see how the new apologist world is working out for me. How are you coping with the vacuum? As a former Jack Watts Apologist, even I can see that the whole skive out the back thing is indeed wearing very thin. He needs to look at tackling machines like Devon Smith over the break for inspiration.

Hey guys who does Harmes tag? Yeo or Shuey?
I think Yeo as he is arguably their best player when playing well.

Cheers. Yeah I agreeQuality name
He would have to improve his concentration in the back half or he would find himself playing reserves.

Yet one particular Port fan seems to think he will help them into the 8 and beyond, it baffles me. You want to win a flag and you pick Watts and Motlop? You’d be better off getting Todd Viney and Andrew Leoncelli out of retirement.I can give you some tips about being a wied apologist
The mantra is
He doesn’t get the space he needs with hogan And tmac down there
Also did anyone watch the pies game? Port players also continually ignore watts’s Leads . I wonder why..,,,
Has he made that statement recently? Or at the time he joined the club? I can understand the delusion at the time ... He's been a lot worse than I thought he'd be ... but recently, thats laughable.Yet one particular Port fan seems to think he will help them into the 8 and beyond, it baffles me. And I'd be wary too much of just quoting stats as an argument. You can watch the game and see the bloke do nothing for three quarters of it, sometimes literally. I'll take another team player over a guy who tries when he can muster the interest.
As for offering more over time, Hannan might, Garlett won't. May as well go with the younger bloke.
