It's a fair point, but the counterpoint is Dees have added a 2nd gamer and two debutants from the MSD against *.
I think after that Cats belting at Marvel, he's been reluctant to make the team composition too young ever since.
I would agree with you that Harvey, Whitlock and Blamires are really the only one's who performed well enough in the VFL. I guess you don't know if they are ready until you play them though.
Hopefully the compositon of the team trends towards the younger kids by year end after we grab some more wins.
I think every time I've counted we've had 8 players under 22. Some of them are turning 22 over winter.

Like Cooper Harvey in about a month.

Fitzgerald has been one of the form players in the VFL this season and received 10 coaches votes in his first game for Casey. Not comparable to any of our blokes who aren’t doing enough to bang the door down. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be making changes, I just don’t think we should be doing it for the sake of it

McCarthy, Duursma and Ginbey would be in their top 5-10 players. Ginbey is likely leading their B+F. I think losing to West Coast this weekend would be a far bigger indictment on the group than what happened vs Fremantle.

If we can win the next 3 games we get to 8-8. I'd say most supporters would have taken that at the start of the year.
Ginbey is a loss for sure.

But their midfield did a number on us last time. I’m just hoping we are switched on in the middle.

I personally liked ferball's description of Yeo as a troglodyte. It wouldn't have surprised me at all if Yeo's vision through the week was solely of LDU and all McQualter told him to do was to go out and bash him around the footy. It also won't surprise me if it happens again this week

yep.

What concerns me is that Clarko is hoping for a response. He can't even tell. Everyone's probs happy on the training track hence aging they picked themselves up. They'd actually have to feel down and shamed after last week to begin with. The media ban this week was rubbish.... protecting them instead of fronting up to the consequences

Yeah the word hope doing a bit of heavy lifting.

Melbourne 2021? They definitely hit their straps late in the season and played an insane grand final, but we went with them for 3 quarters earlier in the year, and we were terrible.
I think the 2022 preseason match that was the end of Noble and the night game at the MCG in 2023 when Chom got hurt were some of the most dominant displays against us in recent years.
But again as you backed up in 2021, not scary good.

Yeah the word hope doing a bit of heavy lifting.
I mean even if he was saying something to that effect, I'd thought he'd say something like "I'd expect them to go into the game with fire in their belly". It should be an expectation after last week's horror show not a hope

VFL teams are out.

Banch and RHJ listed as playing despite being an AFL emergency, so not flying over to Perth it would seem. Means Toby Pink is the only available emergency for tomorrow's game.

Dawson and Fisher also playing so have been sent home early from WA it would seem.

RHJ was at training today.

Yeo looks like he could work as a hitman in his spare time - just for fun.

In part I agree with you, but just pointing out other teams aren't afraid to play them was my point.
Goad might not be completely ready, but big X obviously sore, so it's a start with giving young guys exposure.

Sure we do have some young guys in there. It's a balance of needing some senior bodies to take the hits so to speak.
To be fair to Clarko he's played Dov, Blamires, Dawson, now Goad and Harvey. Hardemann another.
I'm sure he's keen to get Goater in there when he's had a decent block of games at VFL level.
