Seven have copped a lot of flak so far, question is was their Friday night team in 2001 of McAvaney, Walls and Brereton with Dipper on the boundary better than the 2007 team of McAvaney, Cometti, Watson, Schwarz and Olarenshaw on the boundary?

I suspect Seven had a better on air team in 2001 than they do today.

2007: Cometti was on the team in 2001 as well, however so was robert walls, so thats why 2007 is better

Hard to tell atm.

One commentator that was better in 2001 was Commetti. Have not liked his commentary since 2004, and he hasn't improved back to his best since he's gone back to seven.

I'm happy that the days of Couch and Kerley are gone.

Cometti>>>>>> Walls

However Watson, Schwarz and Olarenshaw aren't half as good as Brereton and Dipper were so 2001 wins

Schwarz is not very good he's ok on a talk back show or something like when he was on white line fever. 2001 for moi

McAvaney and Cometti dont mix well. Watson and Schwarz are boring to listen to and know nothing. 2001 way better.

2001, easily.

Watch both eras and see for yourself. Bruce put more excitement into games back then. Even the boring ones were good based on his commentary. He is a bit stale atm.

A bit of his commentary duing the Carl vs Ess match earlier in the year. The difference between that and now is huge.

You never know Thrawn, Bruce might be saving himself for the season proper.

Bit hard to get too excited about the NAB Cup in its current state.
