Chris Johnson to Carlton?

Better coaching - doubt it, with the list Ratten has, to only finish 11th is a fail.

Better facilities - I don't know where you get this from, for one, Carltons facilities aren't great, and two, a weight weighs the same no matter how shiney it is.

I don't see how a stable board would affect his performance, he must be a bit of a douche if those things can affect him, anyway our board is stable.

The list Ratten has?

You mean the youngest in the league? Practically the same list that 'won' 3 wooden spoons.

Yeah, that's some list alright.

In the next coupld of years Carlton will have close to the best training facilities out of all of the AFL clubs.

And you'd be surprised how much the state a football club can effect a players performance.

Coaching the youngest list in the competition & finishing 11th is a fail? When the team had won 4 1/2, 3 1/2 & 4 games in the previous 3 seasons? Most people had us finishing in the bottom 4 again in 2008. A good example of how ill-informed your statement is, is the average age & games played of the respective teams when we played your miserable lot in Round 6. The average of the Demons 22 was 1 year & 4 months older & 33.3 games per player more experienced (that is over 700 games extra experience). This type of age & experience difference is what we faced against most teams in 2008. Our list has lots of talent, but outside of Judd, Fevola & Stevens, most of that talent is possessed by players in the 19-22 age group. A little early for them to be dominating the competition.

As for facilities. Our club can offer our players stability as to where our club calls home. None of this hunting down reasonable grounds on which to train on during the pre-season. How many different grounds have the Demons trained on over the last 4-5 years? Even to this day the Demons don't have a home in the city after which the team is named. Added to this is the current construction that is taking place at Visy Park (handy sponsorship that one), to be completed by the end of next year, giving our players access to facilities as good as any in the competition.

Of course we shouldn't forget the additional funds that are being spent in our Football Department, including significant growth in our player development funding which has recently seen the appointment of Darren Harris & Robert Harvey as Development & Academy Manager & Development Coach respectively. One would suggest that if Chris Johnson is fair dinkum about playing AFL football, he couldn't be in better hands.

Well said medium, Opposition supporters really have no idea when it comes to Carlton, they let there rose coloured glasses stand in the way of saying that the club and playing list is doing the right thing. Whelan makes stupid statements about people like Ratts, when they have a bloke who cant even talk to his players when they want to move on, they have NO training facilitys and a bleak financial future. Really it becomes clearer and clearer why players like CJ want to ply there trade elsewhere.

He's not talking about the board, as in the trestle tables you guys set up in the carpark to have your fundraising meetings, but the board as in the guys who actually run the club...can be pretty important in the scheme of things.

lulz, you must be as up to date as meduimsizered, the guy who thinks we still don't have a training ground. We have the best actual training surface to train on, with great facilities coming. Keep having no clue though, it suits bandwagoners.

And where is this great training facility located? Not in the City of Melbourne. How can you possibly sell to prospective players (eg Judd, Warnock) an upside of having to travel to Cranbourne to train. Particularly when these players can go to a club (Carlton) whose training facilities are on the city's edge & the quality of the surface is second to none because the cricket pitches were removed several years ago, hence why the AFL & individual clubs utilise Visy Park for intra-club & pre-season games.

I wonder if the Melbourne Football Club pay a fuel allowance for players to travel to Cranbourne?

Maybe if you put that in a power point presentation we might have beleived you, but then again your presentations done nothing for juddy so i couldnt see it doing much for us either.

Do you think everyone lives in central Melbourne? For all we know, most of the Carlton players could live closer to Casey then they do to Visy Park.

If travelling 40 minutes to go to work troubles them then they are obvious prima-donnas. I have a good source within the playing group who i speak to once every couple of weeks, and they are very happy with Casey.

And i also think you will find Casey Fields is being used for NAB Challenge matches next year, not to mention Casey is the fastest growing area in Australia, and Melbourne are hitting the community hard, coming up with several great ideas. This is one of them:

A good question. I wonder if Carlton provides feul allowance for their players who live in the outer suburbs to get to Visy Park?

Warnock even?

Fastest growing area because all the 14 and 15yo girls are heavily pregnant. With initiatives like this you'll be the next Collingwood, sure you'll fill a stadium, but it should be about the quality as well as the quantity...

Try blocking a few of the roads up to Mt Buller, then you'll get some people to your games who might blow a few bucks on food and merchandise too.

Then all you need to do is play well and give them a reason to want to come and watch you...

I think you will find it was only Warnock, when Judd found out our president is the CEO of the Reach foundation which directs its money towards helping kids and not financing salary cap breaches, he was turned off us.

You really want to talk about charity?

Take every dollar your CEO and President and every other board member has ever given to charity, multiply it by 10,000, you're still not even close to what Pratt has given...

Do your research before making stupid statements, stynes wasnt your president then, Judd and Warnock both seen your club has no future thats why they didnt go to you, as for CJ he seen that your team is just plane crap and wanted to go to somewhere where he knew he would get paid.

Would love a mod to look at this post. Hassamann ever talked such insulting crap?

Im thinking your visit to our boards may be coming to an end.

And we all know the reason Judd didn't go to Melbourne is he could not see the sense in signing a five year deal with a club that in all likelihood will only be around for another two.

I know that i just wanted to reiterate the Judd is only at your club for the money.

When someone else offers Judd more money he will be off like a rocket.

Damn, guess i won't be able to come on here again next season when you ultimately bomb out. Every pre-season i've looked at this site (since 2006 pre-season) Carlton has been talked up time and time again.

It really has been fun watching all your dreams shattered year after year. Thanks for the entertainment guys:thumbsu:

At least we have something to talk up unlike your club which has nothing to get excited about.

Jack Watts, Sam Blease, James Strauss, Neville Jetta, Cale Morton, Jack Grimes, Addam Maric, Austin Wonaeamirri, James Frawley, Colin Garland, Ricky Petterd, Nathan Jones, Simon Buckley, Clint Bartram, Matty Bate, Lynden Dunn, Michael Newton, Brock McLean, Colin Sylvia, Brent Moloney & Aaron Davey. All draft 03 or later, but this isn't about Melbourne, it's about Chris Johnson, who is not up to it.

Is that supposed to get me excited? Ah FAIL.

And you might just find that CJ is very up to it with decent players around him.

LOL. You obviously know nothing about football.

I think you might find that CJ has been at the club for 5 years, 3 of those years we played finals, more finals series then Carlton has played in this millenium.

Fantastic, we get another bloke with finals experience, will come in hand come september. :D

Dr Twat, you keep running across the mark and giving away those pesky 15 metre penalties (think you'd have learnt from Jimma). No-one cares about your non-entity club, its hilariously fickle supporters, your dark ages history or bleak future. Not here. So rev up the Rangey and **** off to where you belong. Not sure where that exactly is this week but good luck with it. Must be dead funny knowing you were a Don Scott presentation away from total obliteration. I'd like to think you'd have chosen the mighty Blues as your new team. You know deep down you want it. :thumbsu:
