Has the umpiring department got worse, or have the rules changed? Because simply put, no player in the history of our game has ever been suspended when footage shows a hip and shoulder to the chest and shoulder region of the opposition player.

It wasn't even a free kick according to most judges on the radio, let alone a report.

It has to be thrown out, tomorrow, doesn't it?

It was also such a hilariously late whistle. It's almost as if he thought to himself "that looked ok...but if it wasn't, I'm going to get in trouble from the Geisch, aren't I? Should probably just blow the whistle and if it was a clean hit the Geisch will explain it away. Yeah, I'll blow the whistle".

Watching that video, 2.5 seconds from hit to whistle by my count.

The Saint's fans at the game went up like someone had been shot.

I'm suspecting the umpires view of the incident gave him the thought that it was a fine bump but when the Saint's fans went up, he thought there must have been high contact which is pretty much a rookie mistake. Perhaps the reason for the delayed whistle also.

Will be thrown out for sure.

That was exactly where I was watching from at the ground but front on, saw it coming. Perfect bump, didn't even get him high. Couldn't believe it when I heard he was reported for that, totally ridiculous.

That umpire should be suspended for the rest of the season for that decision. It was nothing more than a bump and it was bad enough to actually report him, but to give a free was the worst part.

Some serious bad umpiring in that game, umpires shouldn't be guessing, it's either your 100% sure or if your not let it go.

I was sitting in St Kilda's members, right where the hit was, 5-6 rows back. Was the best hit I have seen in quite some time. Taz is fine, was a perfect hip and shoulder, if he hit kosi's head with that bump he would still be unconcious as we speak. It was quite funny seeing the st kilda fans react, they were so dirty! But it was a fair clean hit and if he gets rubbed out, I have lost all the faith I have left in the MRP.

I nearly spat my Cheerio's out when the ump blew the whistle. You could see the hit coming from when he was still 30 yards away (Kosi just has horrible peripheral vision) and he executed it perfectly.

Remember for the umpires it's better to report and have it thrown out then it is to miss a reportable incident.

I agree most likely decision just to be safe. But..... the 2.5 secs of suspended time went like this.....

They should suspend Kosi for bringing the game into disrepute for putting on such a poor spectacle in front of young fans. Seriously, besides the fact that he wanders around oblivious to what is going on around him, the ease at which he as a big man can get knocked off his feet is a joke. Tarrant didn't even hit him that hard, just timed it well. Kosi, absolute waste of height and St Kilda will never be a genuine Premiership threat with useless lump on the field.
