Multiplat Cities: Skylines II

Changing seasons has been confirmed which is exciting. Small things like that will really ramp up the visual enjoyment.

I wonder how much of the current DLC and everyday mods will be incorporated into the CS2 base game.

Really looking forward to hearing more as we get closer to a launch.

Can't not wait. I'm hoping they implement mods from the first one, I own the first on both PC and console but prefer playing with a controller.

Holy s**t yes. Now to wait 5+ years for the good DLC while we bitch about the base game as we do with anything Paradox.
I found ck3 nigh on unplayable when i bought it on launch, which incidentally wasn't easy because for some reason it was hard to purchase in Australia.

What's everyone's expectations of CS2?

I expect some of the kinds of things that were in the first game's DLCs but obviously not all as they'll need room to release them in the future. I'm not fussed about airports or campuses but I really hope there is something like industries and specialised industry adds great character to any city. I would like a larger selection of maps at launch than base CS1 game, or if it ships with a map editor I hope there is a community workshop for all platforms to readily download custom ones. Obviously PC will be entirely modable as opposed to console, but functions that the mod traffic manager handled MUST be built in to all versions. That's the only way to solve traffic issues realistically.

Colossal Order are also doing both PC and console editions.

I've only recently got the mod to remove having to put down water pipes and it's such a game changer it makes me wonder why you have to bother with the tedium of pipes in the first place. I've had the 'electric roads' one for a while too.

Some nice QOL changes to public transport would be welcome, as well as making it easier to keep track of what you're doing with industries.

So nearly every day I try to find even rumours of a release date. Still nothing but I guess we need to at least wait for a gameplay trailer first too.

I was hoping it would be soon but obviously it's not going to be before the last of the CS1 content releases. What I've found is everything after airports to pedestrian DLC will be released summer (so our winter) on the remastered console edition with the world tour and recent stuff late summer. That means CS1 should be completely wrapped up by ~August on all versions and I'm guessing a November'ish release for CS2. Hopefully we get some more info around what would have been E3 week which I think some publishers are still using that time to make their own announcements and online showcases.

Massively keen for this.

I just hope that they take a lot of what the mod community has done and bake it directly into the game.

Which mod is this?

I might have to save up for a PC just for this, I cant imagine it would run too well on mac or on playstation

Looks like I won't finish my build along with Overcharged Egg then. Biffa's latest and final farewell vanilla build has been a great watch too.

Love the look of some of those building tools. I'd really like to see what building on uneven terrain looks like though. Especially in vanilla that is one of the difficult things to currently make look organic.

I don't do this often but watched Biffa and Egg's breakdown of the game play trailer. Some really cool stuff. Mixed commerical and residential zoning sounds cool. Parallel road tool is great as somebody who runs couplets to connect the city as it builds. Modular services could be really neat so interested to learn more about that. Looks like a lot of coming with the base game and those planned DLCs are juicy. Also looks like we'll be getting updates (hopefully in video form) on the different features almost every week until launch. Lastly I hope there is more parity between console and PC. I will be buying on both but little things on console, even in the remaster, annoy me like not being able to keep an overlay like the terrain one for example when plotting roads.

Road tool update! The video about it appears to be private so hopefully that changes. I'm going to need to read this a few times as there is so much to unpack.

Intersection tool sounds cool. Instant and tight roundabouts.

Pedestrian only roads from Promenades CS1 DLC sounds like it's shipping standard with 2.

No more buggery with annoying nodes when trying to run roads through existing roads.

Looks like barriers and retaining walls are standard? No more stuffing around with water pumps and quay walls (in vanilla that is, I know there are mods like anarchy for it).

I hope they fix the train frequency problems, It was tidies seeing all the trains banked up for miles throughout my maps in the first game.

It is really worth splitting your external and internal train lines up for this reason. What irked me were the pocket cars and it causing traffic jams at the stations. In CS2 we're getting real and functional car parks so no more damn pocket cars.

I did do this and they still banked up
