Being reported on SEN that Collingwood is very interested in having a crack at getting Colin Sylvia in this years free agency..

With Dale Thomas possibly leaving the club I think Sylvia would be a great target to replace Daisy as a Mid/Fwd type.. Would fit nicely into our mid rotations with the likes of Blair/Sidebottom etc.

Thoughs????

Worth a Crack but don't believe those sort of Stories at this time of season.

Daisy would Sign for Less now after his Season Injury Ankle

Wouldn't be against it as long as it didn't affect the compo we would get for Thomas too much.

A lot has been said about he lack of effort and that he doesn't care, but would you go hard and put in effort every game if you played for Melbourne???

Honestly wouldn't mind it. Definitely rate him.

is probably a preseason or two away from impacting games, but he would be a better option.

Yeah I'd look at him.

This hysteria over Thomas leaving is ridiculous at this stage. I am very comfortable that he'll stay.

Also, if we wanted a talented mid/fwd who has issues with application or off-field behaviour, we've got Fasolo to come back from injury next year.

All of it is moot anyway. I'm fairly certain Daisy will stay. Maybe it'll only be a 1 year contract this time so he can prove himself next year, but I'm sure Daisy won't leave.

Daisey can either be traded or go Into pre season draft if he leaves so no compo would be given

Yes.

Heaps of talent, but a he's a dickhead with application problems.

But if he wanted to come to us despite hypothetically much bigger offers on the table, we should definitely look at him. It would show a trait that has previously been hidden, a yearning for team success.

Round 15-18 of 2010.

5 tackles per game
1.25 goals per game

That's what he's capable of, who wouldn't mind that sort of player playing in black and white?

Oh, so SEN is going down the free agents list and linking them all to Collingwood, the Berger from the Lions yesterday, Sylvia today.

Tomorrow it will be Adelaide and Porplyzia, then the next day probably Lecras.

I'd happily take Luey and LeCras. :D

I'd be more than happy to take Syvlia off Melbourne's hands.

He's productive and damaging. Stick him on a forward flank and he'll average 20 disposals, 5 inside 50s and more than a goal a game and do damage with those touches.

He'd be clear best 22 material and whenever you can improve your best 22 you look at it. When it's for nothing as a free agent that's even better if the appropriate salary cap space is available.

Not to say he couldnt be useful, but I have real issues with someone quoting stats from 2010 as justification for getting a certain player in 2014.

Much will have changed, and probably not for the better for Mr Silvia by then.

Doubt it.

Daisy is still likely to be of high value to the open market. He remains very marketable and worth a punt that he could come good again. I could see a team like GWS taking the gamble and offering him a 3 year contract, whereas it'd be very unlikely we'd offer him anything other than one year.
