What do you think a team is realistically going to pay for Travis Cloke at this point?

I think if we start asking for 1st round picks teams are going to laugh at us

Teams can laugh all they want. Cloke is contracted and a required player, teams will have to pay up if they want, if not we just keep him.

Tom Lynch from Gold Coast...he is the KPF we need. They can have Oxley, Toovey, Goldsack, Witts, Williams, Cloke, Gault, Broomhead and draft picks for him.

Key back - The game has changed and as much as I love Brown I just don't think he can do it maybe that is Marsh, Keefe.

Key forward - Really need to find a kid now to develop with Moore, I don't think we can do it without an early pick.

Small crumbing forward - Elliot and Fasolo are great just not your crumbing electric type forward, they would work beautifully with a quick electric forward and wouldn't it be great to see.

Wingman with speed - Don't really have this on the list we need skill and an elite outside ball user, WHE could be a great pick up or a bust, happy to take a chance on a pick 4 who is 22.

Running back - have some potential on the list with Maynard, Ramsay, Sharenberg, Williams are they line breakers with elite skills, I guess we will know more in the next 24 months.

For one more season anyway. I'd like him to be a one club player with us and take heat off Darcy Moore for another few seasons but his work rate has dropped off considerably. I'm pretty sure it's mental and attitude rather than physical (cos he physically did it in the GWS game).

It's Clokes head space not his body that is looking shaky. It was only a few weeks ago he tore GWS apart, nothing wrong with his body there.

It all comes down to how our mids deliver the ball our forwards.

i think even Cloke would agree he was piss poor this season, therefore a contract he signed knowing if certain performance bases were not hit he would not be getting the $800 big ones .

Yea but after 4 years living it up on 800k the massive drop to 400k can't leave a pleasant taste in the mouth, or motivate him to train harder

He wouldnt be getting any extra at another club either . So he can either cop it sweet at the pies hopefully he has a better season next year possibly get one more big payout before he retires. I hope he stays as his presence can only help Moore in the long run.

I reckon we should do what St.kilda did with Riewoldt. Move Cloke up to the wing. He has the tank for it. Let him just run. Run. Run. Don't care about goals. Just run. Then get another KPF and develop both of them together.
Eg: Paddy Mcartin, Josh Bruce and Tim Membrey.
Gives Saints the perfect transition from being heavily reliant on Riewoldt to having multiple options.

I'd suggest that nobody else is going to pay him big bucks anyway. Being dropped to the VFL is no reason to sook and want to leave. He's not immune from playing to the same team standards as everyone else. Luke Beveridge hasn't been scared to drop name players and it hasn't done them any harm. If being dropped causes him to want to leave, he doesn't have the mental strength to be worth worrying about anyway.

I don't think its a coincidence that his output has steadily fallen as the teams results have steadily declined. That's in part out ball use forward as we struggle. But there's no doubt that this season that Clokes effort to lead and work has waned a lot. That's as big an issue for mine.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one thinking this. WHE is about as good a pick 4 as O'Rourke was a pick 2.

I threw you a like for the O'Rouke comment, but I actually don't have an issue with us making a play for WHE if it's for a peripheral player or pick post 30. Mainly because his issue isn't talent, but rather application. Personally we've got enough battlers so some silk would be nice.

GWS aren't getting a great deal for moving up just 11 spots in the draft order IMO. Think they'd be looking to drive a harder bargain than that.
