My biggest worry heading into this game is that we have a poor record of not recovering well after a big win. For example, after our derby win in '99 we didn't win a game for the rest of the season and after our derby win in 2000 we were thumped the next week.
Obviously they were pre-Connolly but it's good Connolly is focusing the players' attention to the game against Collingwood rather than the bigger picture or the possibility of playing in finals, otherwise the players will start to lose focus.
Collingwood will also want to win it for Bobby Rose but hopefully we'll be good enough to overcome their added motivation.
We must rely on our big game players such as Farmer, Bell, Headland and Hasleby & Pavlich (based on derbies - excluding the last one) to have good games and hope our younger players relish the opportunity to play on the big stage in front of a big crowd.
