Who are you trying to kid, Jenkins was on your list and never looked likely to get a game, Essendon never gave a yelp when he wanted to move on for better opportunities!! Seriously!!!

S'pose he wasn't far behind Ryder at the Dons either!!

Just to put it into a little context.

We made a massive error with Jenkins. We were going to re-rookie him but you guys screwed everything up and we were not prepared to match the senior list spot. Not being prepared to offer him a senior spot we took what we could get for him. A lot of this was based on what we thought was our ability to cover Jenkins with another young and very promising ruckman at Bendigo, Tom Campbell. The Dogs (with Bendigo's former coach Shannon Grant and McArtney) snapped him up so in the end it was a massive **** up all round.

He will have to - he will have end of season reviews, medicals and stuff like that to deal with at the club. He's also not leaving the Crows on bad terms, he's just looking after his long term health and financial interest.

Plus he will have to pack up his house and deal with that sort of stuff.
And a grand final to get ready for! ;)

With Tippett looking likely to be heading to GCS or Brisbane, a 3 way trade with the Bombers and GCS could be a possibility. Does anyone on the Bombers list take your fancy? Maybe package a player with our 2nd round pick.
What do Adelaide need in order to push for a flag. KPD or KPF.

EFC - Caddy
Adelaide - player + pick 31
GCS - Tippett

Crows are needing a KPD more than anything right now, and would be pretty keen on Jake Carlisle if Essendon are willing to give him up.

FAITH, have you heard anything that makes you think he might be staying, as opposed to the general opinion that he is going?

Not since before his concussions Macca.
Pre-concussions i was told he was close to signing.
Post-concussions something happend to him, i think he got very selfish which in a way is understandable given he is one concussion away from possibly ending his career.

Yes, I heard exactly the same thing (pre concussion).

Selfish in that he wants to sure up his financial future? Haven't we offered him very good deal which would do just that? And if not why not negotiate?

But werent his concussions about the same time Brisbane expressed a strong interest? Perhaps that's why he want cold and the concussions were a confidence.

He came to banner making tonight... LOL. - most irrelevant post in this thread-
I dunno about that... There's been some shockingly irrelevant posting in here.

Or selfish in that he might like to be closer to home should the worst happen? I don't know... you'd have to be spooked when told by all and sundry - and lets face it every specialist that's never even seen the guy had their two pennies worth in the press - that you are one knock away from the end of your career - or worse, a serious brain injury. I think his dad got in his ear and it confused the whole picture. As I've said many times, this decision is not about $$$.

Frankly Jenny besides your sources you do not know its about money. I don't buy he needs to be home in case something happens. If he is that worried he should stop playing. There is also a flying object called a plane that could take him home if his career finishes or if worse happens.

But don't you agree the backflip has occurred roughly about the same time Brisbane expressed their interest?

No I don't. As several others have said, he was close to signing with us - in fact my mail was he was one week away. The ONE thing that changed everything, was his spate of concussions. But it doesn't matter what I say, you will believe what you want. The media and "fans" have built this up because talks were put on hold. Adding 1+1 and coming up with 54. These apparent offers only materialised once he put the talks on hold. My source is impeccable, so I have no qualms in categorically saying this decision is not about money.

Brisbane interest before the North game and first concussion. So part of your post is incorrect, as for the rest?

This whole consussion thing has been completely exagerated. The last 2 "concussions" seemed like just knocks to the head, at no point was he unconcious. I am not understating the seriousness on continual concussions but it seems that a few people on this board are reverting to his continual "concussions" and then claiming that he is one knock away from serious long term damage as the reason he is leaving. Every player in the AFL is one knock away from thier career ending.

People need to accept that Kurt Tippet is ditching his team mates and club to be hear his parents and perhaps the lifestyle of the GC, simple as that.

Did anyone not notice his reaction after Friday nights win? he looked flat and unhappy and barely even celebrated with his team mates. His selfishness and refusal to put this issue to bed (even if that means dislcosing that he is leaveing, which is at least honest) before the finals appears to have seperated him from the playing group (slightly).

All in all his heart does not seem in it, which is not good with a prelim coming up. How will people feel if his half hearted efforts continue and we end up winning a flag and he leaves us with a premiership medal in is luggage?

My mail (and others apparently if you read above) is that he was about to sign with us, but then had a spate of concussions that caused them to put talks on hold. Read whatever you want in to anything - you do anyway.
Jenny I am merely pointing out at the same time the concussions occurred he was receiving interest from other clubs something you said wasn't true. Ever thought Kurt hasn't been exactly truthful during this and the concussions are just an excuse because he was also fielding offers? No one knows I that is the case besides Kurt, you can't dismiss it just like I can't prove it.

The info I got on Friday was that 3 months ago my source thought he was going and Brisbane was the likely team. Now he's not sure of the destination but he is definately going.

Jenny, if the worst was to happpen the best people around Kurt will be our medical staff not his parents. Decisions on issues can be made over the phone with his parents. His parents are in no position to assist him, from a medical point, if the worst was to happen.
Now if the decision is not about money and he is concerned about his health then the only option for him is to retire, being closer to mum and dad or at another club doesn't negate the risk of him being concussed again.
Kurt has distracted this club long enough now, he should have some courage and make a decision....its long over due.

FWIW, I think he is leaving.

I agree, but I think it went something like "let's see how I get through the rest of the season before I make a decision".

FWIW, so do I. :(

Talking about banners, kudos to Fremantle for coming up with " PLAYING TO WIN"....:thumbsu:

Couldn't help but imagine 30 or so people in a think tank and one stands up and says " How about PLAYING TO WIN?".....

" Yep, I like that... I like that a lot"..... Well done

Yeah no. My source is impeccable. Says mind definitely not made up. Says thinks he will go. Says not about money. Says most likely Gold Coast.
