Craigy greatest gift. Not sure where to post this but when Tex was playing under Craigy, I and some others mentioned that had Craig stayed Tex was going to go.
Well I've caught up with a mate today who asked Tex at a sportsman night earlier in the year that question. Tex's response that if Craig was there he was gone. He said Craig was not a bad a coach and taught him a few things but he felt he was treated unfairly and just wanted to play at the highest level as he believed he was ready. He had a number of clubs chasing him. He's glad he stayed because he loves the club, as a kid that's all he wanted to do was play for the Crows.

One wonders if others may have stayed if Craig got sacked a year earlier (as he should have). We'll never know i guess.
A certain mummy's boy may have found our fine city didn't ruin his personality so much if there was a better environment around the club?Like who?

But he left based on the huge hawks offer. Not anything the crows could do.
I don't think it really mattered who the coach was.
You sure about that?

Boy oh boy would I love to bump some posts from the "Crows plan Walker talks" thread.
We were absolutely blindsided.Very sure.
Would be an interesting read.
Not surprised by EC post as I told you that 3 years ago.
We were absolutely blindsided.
Maybe their offer was huge, maybe not (baffles me how they got around the cap, more stealth than Phil), but if it was just about a huge offer he would've given us a chance to negotiate. Was predominantly about getting out of Adelaide methinks.
Yes, a lot of us echoed these thoughts and were labelled agitators or Craig-bashers.
It's all coming out in the wash now...
The sane stuff about Bernie Vince not wanting to leave and was pushed will come out in a few years as well.

I think that one's pretty much common knowledge isn't it?
I thought it was common knowledge that he was told his future was not assured at the Crows and a trade was in the best interest of his playing future.![]()
Bernie wanted to stay and was willing to take a massive pay cut to stay. He loved the club and didn't want to leave.
We all knew he didn't want to leave......
IIRC - the hawks missed out in a player ( can not remember who) and then head hunted Gunston and the offer I heard was very generous for a 19 year old.
Butcher from Port.
I didn't think Gunston shifted for a huge offer. Are you basing that on your recollection of events or more than that?
