I am envious of you young football fans who have no idea we've waited 20 years to have someone play center half forward properly. They are a once in a 50 year thing for most clubs.

Unless of course you are the Cola Swans. Lockett, Hall, Tippett, Buddy..

Honestly Tex is a million miles away at present!!!

Ouch, a week is a long time in football.

He has been presenting/getting to the ball but his hands have been poor, today they started to stick. Being a couple of kg's lighter have seemed to have made a big difference for Tex - great game.

The other thing about his performance:

May for GC has been getting hyped up for the jobs he has been doing on all the number 1 gun forwards in the comp, his stats were shown on one of the Fox shows not long ago and has had numbers like 0,1,2 goals kicked on him by the best in the game..

Tex in his 3rd game back from a recon tears him to pieces :thumbsu:

Because he didn't get much help with the attention Jenkins, Podsiadly and Betts got.

One of the best games I remember him playing. Was immense today
Have to agree, it was a great all round game. He just creates time and space that few others can. He is extremely talented, and I don't think we have seen the best of him yet.

I think losing kg's was a smart move. He's never going to be a pack marking beast, it has never been his game. He gets a crapload of his goals from being in the right place at the right time and is surprisingly good at ground level (probably because he used to be a midfielder/medium forward before his growth spurt). I always thought FF would be his go but he looks very good at CHF- his engine is great.

Strange how some supporters are prepared to "cut some slack" when "certain" players under perform after returning from serious injury but "others" aren't afforded the same privilege.....

Good call, a week later and he looks to be well and truly back.

His kicking has been way off too.

Well, he was always going to come good. Big step in just a week though. Hopefully, he can keep it up...particularly this week against one of the best defenders in the league.

Not a bad day out:

Agreed, he's playing more like he did late 2012 before he put on those extra Kg's in the 2013 pre-season to ensure he could make up for the loss of Tippett.

He's a clever player with a rolls-royce of a kick when his confidence is up, CHF is his spot.

Exactly, Tex has already shown he can perform at SANFL level, what will another month at that level prove? How will it help build his confidence at AFL level and help him acclimatise to the highest level?

Quite frankly I think all he really needed was a goal, he got that late and I think he'll kick on now. I think he started to look more settled throughout the Carlton game. As has been noted, he's been making the right positions, finding the footy alright, he just needs to find his rhythm and I don't think it's too far off.

Ahem....
