What I can't stand is commentators saying
"He's one of the best players in the league in (whatever skill it is)"
Apparently every player on the field is the best in the league at something

"That was very unJudd like"
He turns the ball over every 3rd freaking kick!!
I love AFL and Soccer.
But soccer athletes are different to football, and so is the game, therefore commentators should not compare goals.
The Hannelbury goal on the weekend is a goal to get excited about, not a 1m toe poke.
Thats what im saying.
And to then go on and say that AFL player should be playing in the world cup is a joke.
Just like saying Schwaarzer playing in AFL taking a high mark is.
Absolute pet hate of commentators is when they compare players and say, for example, "the best players in our game are your Judds and your Fevola's"
Firstly theres only one of them running around the paddock, and secondly, noone owns them so why are the refered to as 'yours' =/
Stating the obvious. Robert Walls does it a lot.
"At the end of the day, you've got your Jarmans, your Ricciutos, your Goodwins, your McLeods..."

'pays the ultimate price' when someone makes a mistake. I'm yet to see someone die on the football field after turning the ball over.
"That's as good as it gets"
For God's sake give that one a rest. And every word that comes out of Dwayne Russell's mouth and , as he never shuts up, that's a whole lotta hate.
I'm sick of commentators talking about how unselfish Geelongs forwards are and how much they prefer to give a goal than kick one themselves... Hearing that Cam Mooney had a competition with Stevie J for most assists over and over and over again was just plain annoying
Yes, it was denied on a number of occasions. Not only that - it had no basis in fact. It started with Robert Walls (who else) saying "it appears that Mooney and Johnson are having some sort of competition..."
Next stage: "I think that Mooney and Johnson..."
Finished product: "It's a well-known fact that Mooney and Johnson..."
Not well-known Robert. And in keeping with most football commentary, certainly not a fact.
