Mod. Notice Competitions: READ BEFORE POSTING A COMPETITION

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

So 7 weeks = 7 comps and any teams sounds good to me :). We could do Mon-Fri jersey Sat-Sun Vote thoughts?

Not everybody visits this board daily. If you're planning on doing a periodical competition (one that runs over and over gain), then it'd be best to accept designs for one week and then vote for the next week after that.

Thinking of it like that it sounds awful

New Afl teams?

That's already been done a bazillion times over and is incredibly vague anyway.

If you're really itching to do some designs, look at all these workshop threads and see if you can contribute:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forums/footy-jumpers-and-graphic-design.122/?prefix_id=214

And once you're done, you can make your own workshop thread with a new idea!

Not everything has to be a competition, man. Workshops are fine, too. In fact, I prefer workshops. No pressure or stress and everyone can help out so the perfect design can be achieved.

The is so much threads i'm scared to hijacked them with my ideas

However, I tried doing an EPL crossover, and I got no interest in it. No one was posting their thoughts and hardly any likes on the designs.

We need more creative comps, not just "rehash old designs by recolour". I mean they have their value but we need things with more substance to them.

A few off the top of my head for later on down the track, just for something different.
A footy-themed wallpapers competition?

Grand final week stamps?

Footy cards?

Flags?

Board shorts, t-shirts and casual wear?

But, before anything can work to it's full potential. In the OP it should have a list of current competitions, when entries close and a list of potential competitions for later on when the current ones expire.

You don't have to do all of them. ;) But that's the general idea of workshops anyway - a place to put your input and put your ideas.

However, I tried doing an EPL crossover, and I got no interest in it. No one was posting their thoughts and hardly any likes on the designs.

Maybe people thought it was a portfolio and didn't want to disturb it?

This.

Workshops are great.

Stormy's right Volta, workshopping is probably better than competitions.

I would workshop more if I was in a designing mood (currently just wanting to do the comps as I don't feel like doing a lot of designs, basically refreshing myself).

But I have workshopped a lot in the past and after a while I had two very successful personal workshop threads (Alternate History and IAFL), plus a 3 person design challenge (IARP) which was a workshop of sorts which also became a 3 person competition, all of which were great for my own progress in designing and have led me to what I design today.

Why dont we make that kotw workshop?

General workshops don't have a theme, you just design what you want and post them there. If after a while you want a specific workshop, then you personally come up with a theme and design your stuff around it. There is no need for a them specific workshop as it just adds more threads when there are already ones that do the job.

Hmm sound intriguing wanna do this again?

No need for me to do it again, took forever as I not only created the designs, but also wrote a short history of each club since the change in the timeline. And the IAFL nearly killed me as I really overextended myself with the number of teams.

Here are links to my two personal workshops:

Alternate History

IAFL

And to the combined ones:

IARP

IARP Challenge

Damn that looks good creagus

What about jumper requests?
EG I want a old fitzroy design in current brisbane lions colours sponsors?

A requests thread already exists (somewhere). There is no need for more threads, just about everything you have mentioned thread wise has already been created because we have already had these conversations.

See that is what you can do, but get some designs in the general workshop thread first so you can get some feedback. You just need to design, no need to think of a million thread ideas, just use those thoughts and come up with your own designs. Perhaps if popular then either you can run with a personal workshop, or a competition may be created if others are interested.

Thanks Craegus you have given me some inspiration to make some custom kits and maybe do like what you did ")

I tried with the flags one. And I'm sure many would remember that for a few weeks, it was a hot topic regarding the Audtralian Flag. I'm sure a workshop like this would bring out inspiration in everyone...

If anyone wants me to start a flag workshop thread, like this post.
I'm sure there's be some interest as it's different to what we normally do (guernseys) but still maintains the same principles and such

I'd rather redesign company logos than create guernseys for them. Is that okay from a legal standpoint?

Out of all the comp ideas I think this is the one I'd like to see happen.
