To start a new contest now you have to post your idea here, then have it liked, then you can post it. If an idea came into my head, like the fauxback jumpers, I would now have to post it here first and have it discussed and liked before I start the contest. By the time it is discussed and liked I wouldn't feel like creating the thread to start the contest. All the enthusiasm that I had when I would have started the contest before but now I have to post my idea here and all of that will have disappeared when I now can post a contest.
What was wrong with people starting up contests when they felt like it. We may of had a lot of contests in July and August but it seems to have gone the other way now. If a contest is a bad idea then it will not be entered into. If someone keeps making contests that are bad ideas then suggest that they post their idea on a thread like this.

To give you and idea for a contest, what about designing new uniforms for the Big Bash League teams? We have the teams and their colours, now create designs that use those colours better than how they used them now.

All receiving good and decent reception, really like to get this one going

Would anyone be interested in a sort of re-designish comp, like in soccer how majority of the team change all their jerseys each year. Do this for AFL teams, whole new set of jumpers that can be traditional but slightly different to the current or a completely bold new design.

Also the workshops have been quiet recently

I think there isn't much Jumper Design Comps any more so maybe we could think about adding more?

The mods are not the ones that decide whether we run the comp or not.

Anyway, I think we need to go back to designing AFL jumpers for AFL teams rather than crossovers.

Because without restrictions the board is flooded by competitions made by people who have no idea about how the board runs. Many of these are simply not suitable to be competitions with little thought put into them (so there are no rules of guidelines and the OP is a single sentence) or are exactly the same as things that are running or have recently finished.

Granted these comps have a high chance of not being successful, but they also clutter up the board and push more important threads off the first page.

This thread was created to stop that from happening and to hopefully give the mods less work to do in removing or locking those waste of time threads. I get that it is a pain but it seems to be working and it also allows the discussion about a comp that may actually make it better then the original idea.

And just on another note, I know people are pushing for some more comps right now, but everyone needs to remember that at this time of year the number of active members tends to be at its lowest and in the past even the most popular comps have slowed down. So just remember to be careful in pushing for something when it may not be the best time to do so.

I think that's kind of the point of this system. If your enthusiasm for running a competition is that volatile, it was probably never worth starting in the first place.

We are working to get AFL jumper comp back and running.

However, there is a 2014 AFL Jumper Ideas thread somewhere.

Thoughts on the design:
Try to keep the Eagle the same colour. It's one thing on the jumper that should be changed.
Have a ago at making the jumpers from scratch, instead of recolouring designs. It's not that hard.

I'm not a mod but if it's that soccer style yearly relaunch guernsey comp, post it up. Make your OP detailed and clear and keep reminding everyone to enter.

all good mate. just saying paint is not the best program to use for making things but I know it so well so I just played around with the jerseys from a template.
