If Jackson was fit I would have liked to make Conca work his way back through the VFL just to reinforce that we expect better than elbows from behind from our boys, but we don't have that luxury so I think he'll be straight back in.

Vickery will be straight back in round 23. I hope it's not at the expense of Griffiths

Actually I wouldn't cry if we dropped jack and put in Mcbean, jack is so out form it's not funny.

Jack is taking the best key defender, which is all we need from him. Have to remember it was a wet night, which doesn't really help the talls

I know jack got doubled teamed a few times but seriously he was awol most of the night, I thought he was very ordinary and he has played well in the wet before so that shouldn't have bothered him.

Our forward entries were bad, Jack kept trying, made contests, double teamed, went up the ground when he wasn't involved, least of our worries

The problem with Jack and Griffiths is Griffiths is a much better player around CHF, which leaves more opportunity for defenders to double team Jack, and when Griffiths is up the ground rucking we leave Jack by himself in the forward 50 when there's a fast break. When we play Vickery and Jack they're both very good in the forward 50 and the opposition defenders need to be accountable for both. It's why I believe we can play Jack, Vickery and Griffiths in the same team no problems.

I think its possible for Griff, Jack and Vickery in the same side now. Griff is really developing into a CHF/ruck, and Jack's game the last 6-8 weeks has gone up to another level as he learns to play a roaming game in the forward half (its improved dramatically since the start of the year) and Vickery(or McBean) are at their best closer to goal.

I'm not sure its worth the risk against Sydney unless our season is officially over, but as the DrMike said maybe experiment this week with the Bean in that position.

One week in the magoos might do him some good and I still think Mcbean could easily kick 3 or 4 against the saints

No it won't do him any good, his form has been fine it was poor conditions yesterday and he was against the AA full back. McBean would be lucky to kick a goal on debut, not ready for AFL level yet.

2 weeks from the biggest game of our season against the best team in the comp and you want to drop Riewoldt to bring in an untried, undersized debutant. Would be by far the dumbest selection decision of the year and zero chance of happening. You're showing a severe lack of respect for the Saints. It's not a guaranteed win, they rolled the Dockers recently and will be keen to send Lenny off with some wins.

kicked a goal and had way more of an impact than vickery does. that gives him a spot. It wasnt exactly a night for tall forwards... His marks were great, his kicking was great, his ground level ball use was great.

And yet Vickery kicked 2 against West Coast in conditions that were 10x as bad as last night and probably would have kicked more if he didn't go completely into his shell after knocking a bloke out

You can talk up Griffiths all you like, he played a good game, but he still doesn't kick as many goals as Vickery. If they're aiming for the same position then Vickery wins hands down, if we're playing 3 talls, Jack and Vickery in the forward 50 and Griffiths CHF then they all get to play, rotating Vickery/Maric/Griffiths through the ruck/forward/defense as needed.

He doesnt, but when vickery doesnt kick goals, hes just a burden. When griff doesnt, hes still useful.
