The only director in Australia that isn't self employed to have no experience in the industry. A massive effort. Geelong also a huge effort given the soft cap
Perhaps. He does have an MBA though so at least he has learned a bit about how businesses run, and large organisations as one of the most important leaders of a football club in the fifth biggest domestic league on the face of the planet in terms of spectatorship per match, so there’s that.

I look forward to Chris Fagan becoming ceo of Qantas

They were sponsors of the "Connect in Hoops" program until it was removed off their website. This screenshot is a cached version of the site as of 3rd of April 2025.

Last Financial year at 5G networks, non executive directors were paid between $131k - $160k p/a as per their financial statements.

Chris Scott is now director at 2 of Geelong FC's Elite Partners.

Geelong rort number 3742 and counting.
This is clear evidence of them brazenly avoiding any oversight. They’ve literally removed them from their sponsorship page when a personal connection is arranged.

You’ve got to wonder why the media aren’t running this (perhaps not capable of a basic check of old data)

The thing that pisses me off with Scott’s success is the hysterical rants and unhinged posts by the haters.
None of this shit is fishy to you?

We are constantly told that coaching is an all in type of job.

So we are now being told that not only Scott has time for that, but two or three positions in companies that also were sponsors of the club at some point?

come on. We know the AFL will tick this shit off, but we don’t have to buy it. It’s shifty as ****.

If I were to die right now, I would die knowing my life was complete. Congratulations Chris!! This is such a massive honour.

An outstanding acknowledgement of your achievements.

More I say, More!!

Mate how much work do you think he has to actually do? Hed probably do a couple of motivational things, give some insights into his professional life, he does have a business background through his degree so can give at least a bit of input into boards or whatever, and not have to do a hell of a lot more.

Do you think Bailey Smith goes to a Cotton On factory and sits at a sewing machine to get his money from them?

How about you explain exactly why it’s “fishy”. The soft cap for coaches is separate to the player cap. So, how does Scott taking on this job impact you? If anything Cats supporters should be wondering if he might lose focus of his primary job as coach, but that shouldn’t be a concern of yours?

It’s not like Scott has done it on the quiet.

It goes deeper than this though. I saw him working the drive thru at KFC the other day. When I complained about an order taking too long he gave a long-winded, smug and philosophical answer about the nature of time itself.

AFL needs to investigate Geelong. This is a joke.
They already did, did you miss it? Coaching soft cap, salary + third-party deals all audited and given the all clear. Based on the rumours of the upcoming trade period and this new job for Scotty, we've been struggling to even hit the floor. Soon to be remedied though. 😍

Mate, it's a listed company. There are onerous legal requirements involved and company directors have been prosecuted for not discharging their duties properly, even when they have relied upon advice from people with more financial acumen than themselves.

Its pretty obvious that the lunatics are running the asylum.
Dill and Laura have lost control of every aspect of the business.

This is the off field equivalent of gaining an advantage from transgressing more than umpires will ping you for.
How can the AFL investigate this when they're flatout investigating the fallout from each weekends games.

Again, he has an MBA that he obtained 14 years ago and based on some pretty basic research, has done study at some level through 4 American universities. I’m guessing he has some level of credibility to go with any actual role he would have to play.
