Well done saints you were absolutely amazing today. Your tackling pressure is awesome and your win is well deserved.

All players now know that not a single one of them can rest on their laurels heading into the finals.

Congrats guys.

Hard to come on here and say this but it was like watching men vs boys out there today.

Your discipline to stick to a game plan and absolute hunger for the contest, tackle and every contest throughout the day was fantastic.

Dont want to bring up the past but it was like watching the Hawks last season the way your whole side goes about it.

I really hope this is your year as you deserve it and the best thing for your side is that there is competition for places.

Take your opportunites and make them count because I can tell you how quickly things can change around.

WELL DONE AND GOOD LUCK IN SEPTEMBER.
 
Thx as its never a good feeling knowing your season is probably over as any longtime saints supporter can attest to.

Lets hope we are watching the Saints this September do what the Hawks did to the Handbaggers last September :thumbsu:

i hope you guys can go all the way, and go 25/0, its been a tremendous achievement so far, i think only complacency will stop you, and i don't think Ross Lyon will let that happen!

Well done to the Saints...basically completely outplayed us with team football.

Looks like we won't make the 8 now, so I'm hoping you win the flag this year for your long suffering supporters.
 
Congrats Saints, really showed what 'depth' really means. Can't see anything stopping your run to the flag, barring your whole best 22 being injured. Best of luck!
 
Well played today. Excellent tackling and pressure. Your entire list has the hunger it seems. I still think you need a loss between now and Grand Final day to be sure of a win (but I am starting to second guess that theory after today's effort), but I do hope you win the flag, by giving Geelong a hiding (although the cats fans would probably say how great they are for making 3 straight GFs lol).

on recent form i dont think geelong are certanties for making the GF. I can see 5 other teams atm that could beat them in the finals.

Echoing the sentiments of my fellow hawk posters.

Too big, too strong, too many mature bodies.

I reckon we must have had 50 'missed tackles' today, and our run-run-run gameplan was woeful.

Thanks for all the positive words, especially those Hawks who must be somewhat disappointed :thumbsu:

The Saints will try and live up to the expectations now placed on them.

At the moment they are breaking new ground for a St Kilda side.

Next week is Essendon they will be defending their club record of twenty straight wins, if the Saints win they will then be looking at breaking new ground for an AFL club, I think the record after that is Geelongs twenty three consecutive wins (including finals).

Its all new for this club, we are simply not used to this sort of success, but they seem to be handling it as well as can be expected.
 
Remarkable game by the Saints. Simply could not believe that you could come within a bullsroar of a win with your 7 best players out.

Hope you guys can close out the year with a premiership - hate having so many of the old Victorian sides not having had premierships for 40+ years.
 
Well done Saints, attended the game live. You guys did not have to break a sweat, control the game even with out 7 of your seniors.

Glad to see Zack Dawson is working out for the Saints... After all the bad press with his FB stint at the Hawks too early the guy sucked it and made it too regulary AFL footy. Thats got to tell you one thing, the Kid Dawson has great character.
 
Wow the nicest Hawk fans ever. I'm probably to used to the Bay with Shotta and FearXXXX (Forget the numbers) Good god I'm pumped/nervous for finals now... should be a cracker in week 1 if we win!
 
I'd like to offer my congratulations and reiterate what my Hawk bretheren have posted (better late than never).
