How do you know we didn’t?

I think Warner would add a lot to our midfield personally. Don't think he goes missing more than other players tbh.Do we need/want Warner? I’d be hoping Hewett is showing signs of being that player in 2 years.
We need someone that knows how to find the ball even when his team is playing poorly. Warner has shown an ability to go missing when the heat is on. Would still take him but not at the cost he would command
As explained, prior form in this area. That’s all we can judge Matt Clark on and his team. Small sample size but that’s all we have. Why?
I think WC are being very active in the trade space.
Having a crack at everyone we know of and lots we don't would be my guess.
We cant land all our top targets as we are where we are in our list build.
We will get a few upgrades which will be a decent offseason.
The likes of Ah Chee, McVee, Erasmus, Davies, Reidy would be a decent haul if we can get 4 of them.
We need 2 mids that can help with our kids that are being smashed because they are young and developing, whether that is Davies, Steele, Erasmus I would take 2 of them.
McVee is an outside wing, transition player with speed and good skills if that's where WC want him to play there.
190cm isn't really a small fwd.

If they are going to lose the bounce and throw it up, they MUST also ban rucks from crossing the centre line in the centre square, there is no need for a ruck to move out of their side to block the other ruck.BW breakout? Might actually be able to time his jumps and hit to advantage if he knows it’s consistently going straight up
At this stage of his career it's all about money, money, money. He needs one big payday, why would he want to be on a lot less money than TDK.Ruck is no longer the #1 priority. As I posted earlier in the week, we're faced with continuing with Flynn/Williams, replacing them with other fringe AFL rucks, or trying to find a young ruck. We should be asking questions and we do need to bring in a ruck but, at this stage, Flynn/Williams look like the best options for 2026.
I don't mind asking the question of Marshall but I don't see why he would cross the country when he's played nearly a decade with the Saints. He'd be better off trying his luck with Geelong or GWS.
If Ryan leaves and Ah Chee came in that makes alot of sense I think but if Ryan stays then you only got that 1 spot at HF and I think we got Davis/Cripps/Newton IMHO as 3 clear options for it so it isnt much of a needYou realise half forward is an area of need, right? We don't talk about it much (if at all) but Ryan is rumoured to be on the outer, Cripps was supposed to retire this year, Owies is useless, Long hasn't quite come on, Champion is a couple of years away from being regular best 23, and we're playing the likes of Gross, Hutchinson, Dewar through there trying to keep them in the AFL side.
The top 8 teams have:
Riley O'Brien (rookie draft)
Rhys Stanley (pick 47)
Darcy Cameron (pick 48)
Sean Darcy (pick 38) - Jackson the outlier hybrid
Oscar McInerney (rookie pick)
Jarrod Witts (pick 67)
Lloyd Meek (pick 69 giggity)
Kieran Briggs (pick 34)
Any player that we bring in for a 3rd or 4th rounder will be depth at best except maybe Reidy from FRE.As explained, prior form in this area. That’s all we can judge Matt Clark on and his team. Small sample size but that’s all we have.
The players we are getting linked to late in the year are not the ones I think should be the priority. At this stage last year we knew or it looked increasingly likely that Graham and Baker would be Eagles players in 2025. Owies thing happened late.
There are only so many players you can bring in and even less with 3 to 4 first round picks also likely coming in.
As I’ve said before they don’t need to be AA quality but low cost or free role players would go a long way if they are the positions of need.
You don’t say no to top end A Grade talent in their prime, if he comes across as a FA it’s a no brainer.Do we need/want Warner? I’d be hoping Hewett is showing signs of being that player in 2 years.

As a fan of Liam R, he has great X factor and closing speed to apply pressure. However, through physiology and/or an unwillingness to traing hard he lacks a real tank so is only a bust proposition. With age and injuries his output is likely to diminish. If Ryan leaves and Ah Chee came in that makes alot of sense I think but if Ryan stays then you only got that 1 spot at HF and I think we got Davis/Cripps/Newton IMHO as 3 clear options for it so it isnt much of a need
Confirmed. Hutchinson = HutchingsHutchinson nothing like Ryan - in fact it could be argued he is the very opposite, only thing in common is they might play forward.
Ryan is a highly skilled, one touch, speedy burst player - Hutchinson is a fumbler, one pace player whose best attribute atm is his tackling.
How is Livingstone tracking? While great teams don’t need great ruckmen, they can’t afford for their ruckmen to be totally uncompetitive when opposed to good AFL ruckmen.
We have 5 list spots taken up by ruckmen: Flynn, Bailey Williams, Barnett, Jamieson (now being converted to a KPD) and Livingstone. That’s a large proportion of our list. And I think we’ve seen enough to conclude that not one of them is likely to be competitive against good AFL ruckmen. That is a major list management issue that needs to be addressed.
We can attempt to get Moyle, Marshall and Reeves but I suspect we’re no chance there, they have too many better options. Duane Massey and co need to get busy to find other prospects ASAP.
So you are assuming the club didn't pursue Sheldrick hard last year?
What is that based off?
He’s developing ok as a young WAFL ruck. At least he has a crack and wants to get the best out of himself, got to admire him for that. But he’s undersized as an AFL ruck prospect and doesn’t have a great leap. Very low probability he makes it as a an AFL ruck. How is Livingstone tracking?
I think Livingstone will surprise some people. He's got grit and loves a goal. Just needs some more time to developWhile great teams don’t need great ruckmen, they can’t afford for their ruckmen to be totally uncompetitive when opposed to good AFL ruckmen.
