Cal Jamieson must be laughing that he lasted 6 years on an AFL list. Loch Rawlinson must really resent the fact hes not 200cm
Talls have to prove they're aren't good and are generally given more time to do that.
Smalls have to prove they are good in much less time generally.
Pays to be tall

If we're trading pick 1 for Warner, why not trade pick 2 for Heeney and Gulden while we're at it? Got the same chance of happening

Coz Heeney's a crab and who the f*ck names a kid not born in the 1800s Errol? Both overrated downhill skiers.

Don't see how their cap is tight TBH.
Already losing TDK and Silvagni.

He's contracted so Carlton will want extra's.
I reckon Carlton would want two picks in the top 10 TBH.

Rioli, albeit younger went for 6 and 23.
Shai Bolton went for something like 10 and 11
and they're both flankers, pockets.
Might be the coach?

Yeah mate
Screw those front runners.

We should be throwing the kitchen sink at the Busslingers, McVee's and Robertsons of the world.
Now that's quality.

Won't come cheap though I wouldn't imagine.

Did you even watch it? They weren't saying that
"I think it's been broken before it even began with the compensation component to it".

They didn't directly raise the issue, but is marketing 101 in how to create a "narrative".

Chad is staying in Sydney for now to try and jag a premiership.
If they are about to land Curnow there is no way he's leaving.
I reckon best chance to get him is in a couple of years when Heaney is on the way out (and Sydney premiership window shutting) and he can cash in his chips and return home for the last few years of his career. May not be WC either at that time, Freo may be have enough cap space.

"B" grader.
Put the crack pipe down mate.

His last 3 finishes in the best and fairest
2022 - 2nd
2023 - 5th
2024 3rd and AA.
By that metric Jy Simpkin should cost us 3x first rounders then?
He would be our best midfielder by so far it wouldn't be funny.
No he wouldn't. Would be a quicker Dom Sheed that couldn't kick running around there.
He's only 24.

Nah, we don't need him.
I think you're confusing a player having a good year in a good team (2024) with actually being multifaceted in a lot of other areas. Things he would have to adapt to doing in a new team like applying defensive pressure would massively take away from the freewheeling run he has at it in Sydney.

I'm of the opinion that Freo were absolutely rorted in the Bolton trade and they're actually in the finals window.

If you’d laugh at an opposition board doing “Harley Reid is on the table” trades a couple of weeks after he signs his contract extension, please don’t derail this thread talking about a Chad Warner deal.

Carlton board is interesting reading. Someone there has spun up a hypothetical trade that has us getting Cripps and Sydney's first for Reid and our second.

......at least they're having fun.

Will be interested to follow Oscar Allen’s journey at Brisbane and how his body holds up. They are known for getting the best out of players, so if Oscar goes up there and has an injury free run, it’s going to tell us a lot about where we are as a club. Supposed to be rich and powerful and once upon a time were ahead of the curve with these things that made us elite.

Thankfully ur not our list manager.. you rebuild through the draft not by giving away all ur trade currency.. we need multiple talent to run through the midfield not singular... most importantly Warner did regress this year.. not saying his best is not ahead of him.. but when gulden was injured and mills etc.. this year he struggled at times to cope with a heavy tag and with our midfield depth he will be targeted each week..

2 talls gone with Jamieson and Allen to depart, wouldn’t surprise me one bit if another one departed too, Barnett is very lucky to be employed from my pov.
The majority of draft trade chat has been around midfielders. I believe we will be targeting at least one tall player, whether that be CDT, Curtin or maybe a SA tall.
WC are notoriously very good at concealing their draft/trade intentions, so it’s hard to get a read on things.
One thing is for sure though we are lacking in quality talls and need to replenish, it will happen.

I doubt his body improves much. We've already seen the drastic improvement in our S&C with the new team and Brisbane's advantage in that area seems to have waned. Tom Barrass didn't seem to improve much at Hawthorn (other than having less travel).

Wouldnt be surprised if Carlton had a look at Petch.
Petch is the kind of player that another team will take off the scrap heap and get the best out of him .

Commentators will be what the hell were west coast doing with this guy .

I've been asking the same question all year .

If we had of played him in owies position all year I feel he would have done better

Pick 3 and the Hawks' pick was what we were discussing paying for Warner and something else last year. I can't imagine that price would get any cheaper with him now contracted.

I reckon Chad Warner is back on the table.

WCE OUT: Pick 1, BWilliams, Owies (both with salary)
WCE IN: Warner x 2, Ladhams

CARL OUT: Curnow
CARL IN: Pick 1, Williams, Owies

SYD OUT: Warner x 2
SYD. IN: Curnow

Why would we have to give up pick 1 ?

Seems like a bone head move considering he is a free agent in 2 years and we will certainly be able to out bid Sydney and freo in salary

Consecutive posts showing BF at its finest.

If the Swans want Curnow, they will HAVE to give up something of value without digging their heels in.

Going to depend on what Carlton want IF they are open to a trade. They must know their list is cooked, can’t see what would they prefer over pick 1 for a player who is 29 in February.

And it’s official

Thanks for your time at the club Jayden

Low cost FA pick up he gave us what we were hoping for by and large but his time was due

Story here

I was glad when Hunt chose to leave Melbourne and rock up to play for Wce when times were very tough out on the field..
Thanks Hunty

As much as I would be a bit filthy that we could get him for nothing in 2 years, we can't wait 2 years to get better. Both the warmers would make a difference next year.

Still take sharp at 2.

Sell off the later picks for suns pick and Davies.

Bang, 3 mature bodies into our best 23 and 2 top 10 picks with our NGAs FS
