Suns still looking at how they can land Curnow but keep Walter and Ried.

They likely get the draft capital an d retain enough picks to pay for bids.

And looking at JUH.

That forward line is looking pretty tall, someone wont be getting a game.
That to me say there will be some massive free agent offers for King next year .

Gotta shake Walter free .

Has that ever happened before, choosing not to play a player for a full quarter and bit if they’re not injured? There’s such a big made when teams are down a rotation.

Seems like smoke and mirrors from Brisbane, or ducks and drakes, or cloak and daggers or whatever the f it is. Shifty.
As I undestand it anyone undergoing a concussion test has to sit out for 20 minutes so he was only available for the last 15 - 20 minutes, game was done, didn't need him, didn't need to take the risk he got hit again but conspiracy theories are good too.

And yet Ashcroft x 2 who were top 3 picks played straight away. In a contending team and are now both premiership players.

That's the quality of a top 3 pick expected.

Draper didn't show anything close to that. Which would indicate he isn't as good.

And not worth using a top 3 pick on.
You cant just compare players to the ashcrofts both would have gone pick 1 in the open pool if available.

No one had top 4 sewn up til the last round

Lions and others could've finished as high as 2nd or as low as 9th depending on results

I don't think Atkins, Drew, or Dunkley are a Sharp type plyer. Cripps is too far back. Guys like him don't last until 11 anymore. I see Sharp as a Cripps like player.

That's my point. Unless they're Tom Green good, or close to that level, they don't cut it and will probably get delisted. That's why you have to spend a top 5 pick on this type of player.
Cripps was never a top 5 player though. Wasn't even "WAs best player" since that means so much to everybody.

Was one of those 20 disposal mids who doesnt tackle or have all that much athleticism.
This is all conjecture pulled out of your arse.

Sharp was the best player in the champs. Therefore, he is as good a chance as any to be able to go on with it.

Show me an inside extractor bull type player who was picked out side the top 5 in the last 10 years. There will be a few, but once you crunch the numbers, you'll discover they are very hard to pick outside the top 5.
Deven Robinson was too. And had a lot more attributes going for him.
Sharp has actually had a similar season to Clay Hall in 2023 all said and done.

It's called a HIA assessment. A large portion of the quarter, 20 mins, he was in the changerooms.

I watched the bump over a few times . He had the wherewithall to put his hands forward and his head and neck were not out of control even as his hands protected his fall to the ground . Cheekbone may have been sore .
Brisbane with game sewn up early in the 4th qtr may well have thought of protecting pick 19 and dont risk the trade value if he were to be concussed in the dying minutes .

Word is King is keen to stay.

However Hardwick isn't a huge fan of King (grain of salt taken on that).

Definately something not settled with the Suns KP forward structure. Even though their fans post its not an area of need and the Suns don't need more KP forwards.

Something is happening in that space IMO. Too much noise about them looking at other tall forwards.

You seriously think the Lions were thinking about his trade value during the grand final?

And again you use a maybe to support your view.

Chris Judd went pick 3.

Fact is Draper at 3 versus Baker, Allan and Gross. You still split that pick.

If a Chris Judd was in the mix you hold your pick.

There wasn't a Chris Judd quality player there available. THATs the point.

Curnow is a much more rounded player than King. His age is also less of an issue as if they gave him four years by then Read, Walter would be ready to take over full time.

King will probably get massive offers as a RFA next year. So the cost certainty of agreeing a Curnow contract might appeal.

Where does Gross come into it?

From what I can tell it was:

To Carlton: 3, 63, 68 (from West Coast)

To Richmond: 14 (from Carlton)

To West Coast: Baker (from Richmond), Owies (from Carlton), 12 (from Carlton, used on Allan), 73 (from Carlton, unused?)

Did 73 come all the way into 46 (where Gross was drafted) once all the NGA shit was sorted? We drafted two players after Gross (Grego at 48 and Davis at 65).

Pick 12 ultimately became pick 15

On the night of the draft we traded back one spot (from 15 to 16) with Port in return for a R3 pick which we used on Gross

That’s where Gross comes into it

Cool, thank you. So it could also be said it was Murphy Reid for Allan and Gross :moustache:

Was one of those picks in the 60s we sent to Carlton the pick we received for Darling?

If so we need to add that trade to it too I guess!

It also looked like he had the wind knocked out of him .

Going full sprint , every breath vital to keep going then bang no air lungs screaming cant get a breath .

You aren't getting up and running off to the next contest any time soon
