"Start of second.."

Rather than

"End of first.."

Would've sounded and gone down much better with everyone, bit annoying the AFL couldn't get that terminology right when it's the exact same pick.
I would have rathered a 2nd after our pick if we also got a 3rd after out pick also .

It either eagles got a first round priority pick

Or eagles got a 2nd and 3rd round priority picks

They both feel the same

I feel dev is actually an inside mid so he is ahead of Graham.

Hewett still isn't a lock to make it but trending ok

Kelly is a crab and on the way out but still offers more when he can be arsed

Yeo has already been rumoured to be playing HBF to get him on the park in any meaningful way .

Hough had that 1 great game vs Collingwood but the whole midfield experiment was a mixed bag

Hall is very much like for like with dev
Hall is a like for like aside from being 4 years younger, why would we play the bloke with less development.

Hewett is already better than Dev and has the potential to be far better.

Hough produced more in his first 8 midfield games than dev in his career.

It’s not though. Band 2 FA compensation is end of 1st round so those picks would go ahead of our assistance. I’m guessing end of round one means it stays as the pick after Brisbanes.

Based on precedent (NM PPs), our end 1R PP will be immediately before our 2R.

The end 1R band 2 picks come immediately beforehand.

Thoughts on Anthony Camaniti as a potential pickup to bolster the fwd/backline with the saints bringing in Leek Aleer and Silvagni? Contracted for next year so would have to trade for him.
What's the point . Will just take a list spot.
We have more picks than spots atm

I don’t see it. We have so many forwards, we’re looking at Young from Richmond as KPD depth.

Nah.

You need to remember our guys have been given prime opportunities as on ballers where dev has never got to play exclusively midfield.

Honesty i don't rate dev that highly but for the last 2 seasons we have barely had a midfield. Even if dev is playing wafl and first in for injuries it's way better than how we have operated

Robertsons played more games with >40% CBA’s than Hall and only 3 less than Hewett/Hough.

Guys you're not gonna like this. I was just down at Kwinana dog beach and spotted what appeared to be Matty Clarke making some sort of commitment to Tylar Young. I managed to sneak a photo...

I walked over to congratulate them and asked if I could see the ring, it looked like this...

If Dev chooses the dogs vfl team over us, just shut up shop now

They were chasing Neil Erasmus as well, think they are chasing a long term replacement for Liberatore who is 34 next season

Right now Dev would struggle to make our fully fit team.

He would offer barely more than Hall while having less development in him.

The only reason to grab him would be to strengthen our depth and WAFL team.
This is not true. Exactly how many of our fully fit team do you think would be on the fringes of selection for the reigning back-to-back premiers?

Hewitt - The potential in Hewitt is obvious. Forget how good he is now, he'll improve with experience. He's a lock to get increased amounts of on ball minutes.

Yeo - depends on fitness. If he's fit, play him in the middle. Teach Harley how to be a bull.

Kelly - soft. needs to go to the wing or half forward. Inconsistent.

Hough - I think he's stop gap. We're short on mids but not short on HBF's. I think he ends up HBF.

Dev - you'd play him as a Redden type. If he's not up to it, you cut losses. I think he finds it hard to transition in a team full of stars. Usually it's the other way around. He'll cost a pick that we probably won't use. So the only pick is opportunity cost.

Hall - I don't think he'll be a long term player.

I’m taking all of Reid, Graham, Yeo, Kelly, Hough, Hewett and likely Hall before him as centre bounce mids next year.

I don’t expect a response to this as you never got back to me about Hewetts best game at AFL being better than Drapers best at SANFL but you believing they would’ve had a similar impact this year.

You always have such a wild rating of players. All over the shop.

Graham and Hough aren't even real midfielders - Kelly's more hot and cold than the McDLT and Yeo is perma-injured.

Suddenly, it's Reid, Hewett and....Clay Hall...?

Somehow, I think Dev Robertson would manage to get a look in.

Not that he will be coming to WCE anyway.

Hough isn’t a real midfielder yet in his first season with midfield opportunities he’s outperformed Robertson’s career?

Surely you’d rather persist with the bloke that’s better and has more development than the state league player.

Graham is a better midfielder right now than Robertson, he would also be tearing apart the VFL in the middle if he played there.

Kelly and Yeo are obviously better players, noting I did say fully fit.

What has Robertson done at AFL level to show you he’s better than these players.

He’s played 10 games with over 40% CBA’s for a career high 5 clearances, Hall bettered that 3 times this year from his 9 games above 40%, non midfielders Hough and Graham also bettered it just this season.

At what point does the 24yo lose the “potential from lack of opportunity” tag.

Again I’d pick him up to bolster the Beagles.

So it’s actually pick 30+ then on draft night.

Yep, which is why we should trade it straight to GCS so it retains some value.

Evans walley Williams won't get bid on at all? Given the all the criticism of us having all these NGAs under our noses and now being gifted rookie spots the way you've done makes perfect sense but if bid on, we will have to match.

It's amazing that so called experts who are paid to give their opinions can be so out of touch and show a complete lack of understanding/context while being so confident to the point of arrogance. Jenkins is the only one with a little bit of sense which says a lot as he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Would love for someone to call up and point Barrett on the spot and ask him to back up his opinions.

Blaming arrogance and saying everyone in footy saw WC downfall coming after 2018/19 is pure revisionism and there's probably never been a club lose so many stars at their peak in such a short time to reoccurring soft tissue injuries, concussions and impact injuries. Yes the drafting in that period was poor but we were a club who had played finals 5/6 seasons in a row while also travelling the most in the competiton by a long way, which then coincided with covid lockdowns and soft cap cuts that hurt us far greater than east coast teams.

He then talks about the club being the richest in the country but he clearly has no basic understanding of the soft cap or luxury tax works and that exceeding it is essentially untenable as it compounds year after year, and then what are you supposed to do, just sack the extra staff you hired?

How are you supposed to access the best talent in coaching and medical when we are so geographically isolated and not even able to spend the extra money to make the move worth it? Not to mention the club is run by the WAFC who probably don't want to piss away the same profits they use to fund WA footy on an insane tax.

He's pulling his hair out over us receiving one measly end of first round pick that will probably come in around 30 despite North, GC etc getting far more as assistance and the fact that basically all the current top teams have been rorting the draft in one way or another to a far greater extent for years now, which has created a far harsher rebuilding environtment today than at any time in the past.

Guy is a low IQ w***er and has been thieving a living for way too long.

Evans and Walley I don’t think will attract a bid due to injury and attitude. Williams might and I do wonder if we are holding out on Cripps pending this assessment.
