Aah the footy.
Dislike Brissie but glad they beat Swannies. You poor guys must be feeling so down.Does it feel like a depressing place to be??
Folks we have gone past Port without leaving the station. It may not show up this year but it’s a fact.
The price you pay for
focusing on the midfield and not getting some big talent and relying on an ageing slow Brownlow medallist

Wonder if Jordan Butts would be worth pursuing? Out of favour it seems. Maybe too similar to Edwards, but would be a lock down KPD and allow Shanahan and Brock to intercept.

Bo was an interesting selection, I think in a few years we'll ultimately judge Ginbey-Allan as a duo. If they both end up in the backline I'd say we fluffed our lines; if one is great down there, the other in the midfield, then all good. Both as midfield options? Excellent.
As long as we can get our midfield sorted without them it'll still look OK. If we've got a dominant backline with them we've still done well.
Of course not having any tall backs will hurt after gov retires if none of the young guys we've got grab a spot there

I used to think like this, but if we get our midfield sorted, and have success then it doesn't matter where Allan/Ginbey end up playing.

If they end up with a couple of AA's as HBF's and we win a flag with Harley, Warner, Hewett as our main mids, would we have fluffed our lines? I don't think so.

My gut tells me our next flag will be won off the strength of the Harley compo first round players. My belief is he stays for one more contract but heads home before we're really contending.

Not a huge fan of both Bo and Ginbey both ending up HBFers as I think they're a little too similar there rather than really complementing each other. Ideally one will push into the middle.

I'm sure we can vault this post for 7 years time and laugh about how wrong I was!

Based on very little we have seen, Bo looks far more likely to be a midfielder, he operates better in small spaces. Ginbey is a straight line player. You can't be that in the midfield.

But can't see either breaking in there in the short term ie next 3 years.

Ginbey is certainly a straight line player. Could be our Lizard in time. I must say the best mids these days are so impressive in small spaces. Hopefully Bo makes it.

In this new world teams need defenders who are versatile.
Brissie have a forward line of mobile midsize players esp with Daniher gone.
Ginny is a good size without sacrificing pace; Allan the same. Big fast tough. In the turnover world you win games counterattacking .
Think Shepherd X 2.

It seems like all the WA media feel Harley is gone and i guess they would have some small inkling from sauces.
I would prefer that Harley commit to the club and stay, but if he was to go the price would have to be high - something like 2 high first round picks plus a player or two.

We have to face the fact that it is very unlikely a high profile Victorian draftee is going to stay in WA.
This would have to be a calculation for the trading and drafting team.

Metropolis kicked 2 more after his burst at least. Then played for Freo anyway...

A fabled tale, that unfortunately ended sadly with a depressing and tragic ending.

Going from chocolates to boiled lollies.
