Eagles should bid on Annable and Uwland and any other highly rated players NGA for pick 1 make the Queenslanders and whoever else cough up proper value for there players instead of being the nice guys all the time. Cause some havoc on draft night.

I'd love to see it. Have to be prepared for a team to pass on matching though which could leave us with an unhappy player.

AFL are screwing us anyway, not giving us priorities or anything. If we get an Annable or Uwland that’s great as there highly rated anyway. If they don’t wanna be here how is that any different than picking up a Vic or SA player anyway

They won’t pass.
If we were to bid on Annable for pick 1 and now being no discounts would lions even be able to get enough points to match, if say they finished first or second and there first rounder was pick 17 or 18

Probably time we got back on topic and stopped talking about specific posters

People are free to make up their own mind on whether other posters are (or aren’t) what they claim to be and whether to then believe what they post

In the absence of definitive proof either way it’s a circular argument that has no conclusion

Time to move on
Of course you would say that, Keys , if that even is your real name.

Hopefully Duff-Tytler continues to have a great year. I don’t think he’s a guy we should be looking at with our early picks but he’s the sort of talent that other clubs might be eager to jump up the order to secure. We might find ourselves with some interesting offers.

lol BOND007. He’s more of a chance of being bogus.

No. Put together a list of the genuine long time WC trade and draft nuffies. Particularly the posters who boycotted my presence here. Not one of them has ever criticised or argued back against something Phil has posted. Even when Phil posts one of his long state of West Coasts list posts, and details particular players and whether he believes they’ll make it or not, or that WC probably don’t see finals until the end of the decade.

Not a peep.

And I actually followed Phil’s account during the trade period and then the draft.

The only time he posted on here was early in the morning or late at night, and once during lunch.

He wasn’t posting during the draft.

I know he keeps saying he’s done with recruiting. I keep saying similar things to my wife about my current job, but I’m still here.
Well well well. Colin is still at it.

I do not hide behind anything so you might as well name me. Yes, I was the main poster who, on behalf of a number of well respected posters, were sick to death of hearing from you on our board. So I took action. I failed to get you completely banned from our board but managed to have you excluded from the specific threads on drafting, Colts, NGA, FS etc. We also have a couple of those larger conversations that we directly control that provides next level details. It is with the changes that have been made have many of us found how pleasant and informative Bigfooty can be. And we don't need to plough through 20 pages a day.

You seem to be in denial that it was warranted. Why then did I act? A number of reasons.
1. Your passive aggressive posting style (you deny this but like a teenager, do not like or take criticism well and failed to change) which has only gotten worse since your Lion's won the flag.
2. The smartar$e, know it, mansplaining way too many times about how academies work despite never having worked in an academy is blocking up pages of threads and nothing new comes out of your posts.
3. You attempt to mock posters who claim inside knowledge yet you claimed to have being invited into draft boxes and been given draft post mortems about each player the draft. You will now ask me to prove that post. Reality, you might have been lucky to dine at the club bar and talked crap with a couple of scouts while at the bain marie (if anyone at all). Nobody went to town on you for your claimed insider knowledge yet the above post is proof your petticoat has a tendency to burst into flames.
4. Since you have been rightfully excluded from conversations, you seem to think there is no challenge on Phil or any other posters information. Wrong. But you were not there to witness so you assume it does not happen. In fact the details given to a small group well before trade week and then again the draft ended up as advertised. They just weren't shared with you and there were robust conversations from many sides.
5. You seem to think that you can work from home with draftees. What do I mean by that? You invest a significant chunk of time on open boards reading other posters input and then come back and regurgitate this to our board. You do not go to any games of WAFL, U18 Carnival, Colts, Coats, etc and seem to believe Youtube clips and watching TV from very limited cameras will provide insights into a player and their possible development. In discussions I have had with recruiters, Footy IQ racks up as number 1. You get to see this with running patterns, leading lanes, timing, providing outlet options, positioning at the base of marking contests, etc. These can only be gleaned by going to games. I have no doubt you watch a lot on TV, but that is only a small part as to whether a player will be able to transition to being an AFL player. And yes, I do go to games and often sit and talk with other posters when at the game. Sharing information and relevant insights helps my knowledge base.

I could go on but I am likely to have this post "managed" by moderators trying to keep the peace.

In closing, you might be wondering why I call you Colin. Two characters that come to mind:

1. Strong resemblance to character Colin from Love Actually. Colin sprouts on about being a love goddess and having a big nob. His friend gives him the hard truth and tells him "Colin, you are a lonely, ugly ar$ehole and you must accept it".

2. Derek and Clive (Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) in the "Hello Colin" in the Come Again album in 1977.

Derek speaking:
  • A’right Colin, how are you then? All right?
  • Yeah, eh, yeah, nice to see you. What, er, how’s, how’s Robin? All right then?
  • Yeah, that’s nice. Yeah, well, take care.
  • Yeah, give my love to the family.
  • O.K.! See you!
  • (pause)
  • Kent.

So, my learning today is that we should be less defamatory as a board and stop calling you Briskent.

Colin is more respectful.

I think the discount is 10% now. A team would need to finish 4th last or lower to match a bid at pick 1 using their 1st, 2nd and 3rd. That's before any free agency compensation as well.

Good incentive for Brisbane to pay enough for us to get Oscar for pick 2, to ensure no bid on Annable first 2 picks. Drops points needed from 3000 to 2178 for a pick 3 bid.

Eagles heavy article.

A pre draft priority pick can all but be ruled out (pick 1) even though we haven’t asked for one yet. Just mentions the past assistant packages and maybe extra cat b spots.

Harleys decision, he won’t make it until later in the year but Eagles and Worsfold very confident but Vic teams think he could still be considering returning back to Vic.

Interesting, I assumed that he doxxed himself at some point between trade period and draft day because there was some scepticism before I took a break and when I came back it had completely dissipated. Did that not happen?

For mine, I think he's a fun poster and it doesn't matter either way. But I don't find the 'why would he' argument to be at all compelling. Elaborate larps have been a thing on forums since their inception.

And even allowing for some legitimacy, much of his canon is on the face of it, absurd nonsense. Which he himself allows for, as he deliberately posts 'misinformation'.

Nah we’ll leave it.

Let you have your say unedited. Get it off your chest and into the public eye.

But we all move on after this.

briztoon don’t answer, you say enough.

It’s tiresome. I’m tired. Let’s move on.

Thanks

For me Sam Toner was the standout for the Young Guns. He ended up kicking four goals and was a menace all game:

Jhett Haeata was also great around the clearances, however, his foot skills left a bit to be desired after he spread from congestion:

Cooper Herbert was good and kicked a couple of goals:

Where is the #35 Ayden McCarroll - 210cm ruckman?

Why exactly is it bothering you whether anyone argues with Phil or not?
It doesn't.

Another poster started the discussion about whether Phil is genuine or not, and other posters jumped in with their opinion. My observation is that none of the other invested draft and list watchers here ever criticise Phil. I'm just postulating if they are leaving him alone, maybe he is genuine.

I don’t know what’s gone on in this thread and I don’t really want to know, but I want it on the record that some of the mods (me) do call Phil out all the time.

Bloke is single handedly list managing the club against his own wishes, keeps letting himself get drawn back in for one last rodeo, boots the recruitment team out the door to navigate trades himself, all the while posting on BigFooty on his son’s account to keep us up to date.

And, if at the end of the day, he turns out to be genuine - Phil, I apologise. Thanks for Matt Owies.

At worst we can use them to get Jed Walter home
