We are in such a severe loop of damned if we do, damned if we don’t. Looked to me we tried to avoid a North Melbourne tactic of DUMP THEM ALL and keep some senior premiership players around to lead kids in 2021.
Our issue was not prioritising drafting/development before hand, so there weren’t actually any kids coming through to lead the next generation (like Richmond, now). Add in the fact of injuries, geographical location affecting longevity of careers, we didn’t forward plan well enough and had too much faith in these senior bodies that broke down.

My issue though, is with these competitive disadvantages, mostly with travel. Richmond don’t travel, and it shows in the longevity of their veterans. We can’t sustain that. And our development pathway is cooked due to our WAFL set up.

I’d love to see concessions for both WA teams in an unrestricted number of NGA category B list spots. Outside of the cap. Could have given someone like Humphries the opportunity to settle into a high performance environment and not be spit out quickly. Could increase the numbers of Indigenous players in our game. Will certainly help with our WAFL side. If you have the funds, develop away.

Okay rant over

Seems like someone that would need some convincing to come to WA and is also a risk with his incidents last year but Clayton Oliver could be that midfield help for Harley. Don't think Melbourne would mind getting his contract off the books which would make the trade a bit cheaper. Also has links with Mini at Melbourne last season so if Mini wanted him you'd know he isn't worried about his attitude and them incidents.

The guy has serious off field issues.

Eagles have a young group.

Is that a risk worth taking?

Doesn't seem to bother Geelong.

Would like if we made a play for both Marshal and Steele together.
If Saints do go for TDK with a monster offer they will need some salary relief and don't see Marshal wanting to play second fiddle to TDK.
Both players would fill a big gap for a few years and Steele could impart his knowledge of Marshals rucking to the other mids.
Cats have almost convinced marshal. Won't come west

He's getting separation at centre bounces and clearances.

He got nice seperation last week kicking that incredible goal.

You comment about McCarthy is strange. The Lions don't need to replace him after he retires? OK.

Lions 1st will end up mid to late 20's.
You mean the 8 centre bounces he attended last week for no clearances? Or the no stoppage clearances he also got last weekend? Never mind he doesn’t have the fitness for anymore then 5 mins a quarter in a midfield role where he offers nothing defensively.?

Ryan was a very good footballer but that was years ago. 2020/2021 areas. He is never going to be that player again .

McCarthy hasn’t played already been replaced in Brisbanes forward line by Rayner, Lohmann, archee and Cameron.. he isn’t replacing any of those.

This is the problem. We can't have that come into the club given we don't have strong leaders in place to keep him in line.

Matt Crouch seems the best option given he should be very cheap, been pushed out of the Crows, can find the pill and win clearances. Could give him two years on decent coin. He plays until he's pushed out.

EDIT: Crouch is an unrestricted free agent, reckon we throw a third rounder that would do the trick for a trade, or just see if he's keen to go to the PSD. Offer him an extra $50k a season if he agrees to do that.

So one game defines a player and a season?

I dont agree.

Time will tell.

I don't understand how people can rate Flynn over Big Boy Bailey.

I mean they're both shit but Flynn is worse.
I completely agree. When Flynn's rucking you may as well just setup defensively, because you KNOW he aint winning the tap down. Combined with the fact that his opponent is nearly BOG every week, I dont see how he keeps getting the call up unless there is literally nobody else (even a versatile forward would do better at this point).

Narrator: No they wouldn't

He had the most hitouts against Richmond. He isn't great but is somewhat consistent. Would be easier to rove off than BWilliams.

I dont see a path were Adelaide give up Curtin TBH. Unless its a straight swap for Pick 1 so that they can take Sharp (and in that case...just take Sharp?).
We'd burn West Lakes down. Unicorn player who's quickly become a fan favourite. We'd take our chances on luring Sharp back in years to come if he comes on, and we'd expect nothing less than for you guys to return to favour!

yeah well that's definitely the risk but as i said mini will know him quite well so you'd back his judgement over the media. It's only worth the risk if you get him cheap in a trade. If you could trade a second rounder for him it's probably worth it. Jack Williams could be involved in the trade also as they are looking for Tall forwards.

Any chance that the Eagles would trade pick two for 6 and 7 Draper compo and Dees pick?

Hypnotically speaking?

we keep 2 and 5?

you guys get 1 6 7?

i heard about the GCS deal but i would have thought 2 picks inside the 10 would be better for WCE then the later ones from GCS?

Do you think 2 for 6+7 is fair?

If our targets were still available yes but to achieve that I think you’d need to give us your best two picks and we’d send Hawks 1R or 19 back with pick 2.

Think it would be a more in depth trade maybe 6 7 or 5 and 6 etc for 2 and a second etc but i dont want to start any war on your board or anything like that

I think it would all really depend on what WCE is looking at bringing in terms of attributes and what we are looking to bring in
