• Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

• Jamie Cripps and Malakai Champion seem to have been offered new contracts despite there being no official announcement. Means that all players out of contract for 2025 have been given new contracts despite or removed from the playing list

Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

7 & 8 going to Melbourne will be good for us as I can see Melbourne coming hard for Pick 2.

Means we won't have to burn capital trading up. Could move 13 into next year maybe with GC & still have 3 top 10 picks this year (1,7,8)

2 firsts & 2 seconds next year in a stronger draft would be great.

Would still have 33, 38 & 41 for bringing in some more talent this year aswell.

We would take it if it was offered. But i think it is too good to be true. Doubt we will get 3 top 10 pick for pick 1. Even just 5 & 6 for pick 1 is pretty generous.

So Essendon give up Merrett, 5, and 6 for pick 1 and Husthwaite who by all reports is "crabby"?

Lets assume both Yeo and Starc have reasonable pre seasons and are ready for round 1 and the plan is still for Yeo to play at least half the game off HB. Will we be having some difficult conversations about Duggan's place in the 22 very shortly?

Not sure but Champion wasnt mentioned as top 30 pick before that. Cal reported a while ago that Williams was in some teams top 30. Plus ‘weak’ draft and hff being seen as a priority position to fill for some teams

Being in a few teams top 30 is unlikely to generate a pick that high.

Listened to chesser on SEN earlier. He said his preference last year was to go back to melbourne. We really need to think about who we draft and pick players like duurama and sharp who are happy to come here

Why's everyone so concerned whether we won deals or not. Getting pick 30 or 40 isn't going to matter if we don't have talent identification down pat. Starcevich is a known, I'd rather lock him in then take the chance on a draft pick, that more likely than not will be a bust.

If we had a decent team and he didn't get injured, and cemented a spot, things might be different. If someone is an obvious flight risk, then typically avoid.

He's just a young kid trying to make it. The truth is, he's not a mover and shaker. Your top 5 or 6 players determine success, the rest are just a variation soldiers. If it's not Chesser, it will be someone else. Never get bothered about who the soldiers are.
