So just checked the Adelaide board they are pretty sure they will get Ah Chee

We hold the number 1 pick in the PSD.....but if he wants to go to the crows ..??? how does this work

is this a bidding war how much money between the Crows and eagles offer for his signature ?
No they just price every other club out the market , WC probably the second most likely chance of AhChee .

Amazing that Merrett is stuck at Essendon.

Gotta give our boys at tbe Bombers credit - they have definitely put pride first and valued sticking it to the Hawks more than a golden chance to cash in a wantaway 30 year old when they are staring right down the barrel of a rebuild.

They'll all be jobless in 12 months.
The board had the final say, so it's on them.

Do people honestly think we'll draft Ah Chee when he's clearly said he wants to go to Adelaide?

I just can't see it.

Carlton did with Nick Stevens and he hung around.

We owe Crows nothing.

We have a chance to recruit the perfect replacement for Ryan and he will cost zero draft capitol whatever Crows try and pay him we can afford and they know it.

Very rarely do you get a chance at a free hit like this. We should take it.

We've got a month to initiate/restart any conversations

Merrett 30 years of age , Essendon didn't trade , bad blood between Hawks and Essendon must be very real .
Well Mitchell and the Hawks tried to play us and the bombers by leaking the meetings. It kind of worked for Allen but they didnt get him and happy they didnt get Merrett as well. The melts are funny on the Hawks board. Many are in coping mode now. - (Well at least we didnt get screwed over) Others are saying, they lost Worpell and gained nothing haha.

I wouldn't say it would be an indictment of the Eagles specifically, since a whole stack of clubs have picks before Adelaide. If he does get through to them then it's an indication that every AFL club just has a gentlemen's agreement to let players get to their preferred destination through the PSD, not that the Eagles are somehow incompetent.
I’m not saying West Coast are incompetent if Ah Chee gets to Adelaide via the PSD, I’m saying it’s funny how a team with pick 14 in the PSD uses it as leverage, as did Geelong with Bailey Smith, but we with pick 1 have never once utilised that unique advantage.

We are not taking Ah Chee in the PSD, we never rock the boat.

Let's hope we can get Ah Chee if you decide not to match the Crows offer.

We'll pay you back down the line. ;)

We won't. We are content to lose him for nothing. He told Adelaide back in July/August that he wanted to join them, so I think you will find it hard to convince him to go West, but you never know. You shouldn't overpay for him though

True but he's a free hit and for a side with more salary cap space than we know what to do with we would be negligent not to explore it.

Tell Crows we want a deal for that F2 or we take him in the PSD. Can we do that? Some sort of pick swap
Problem is, Adelaide have one of the last picks in the PSD. They could work something out with us but then there's no reason that North or Essendon or Richmond wouldn't just take him. Adelaide can't just make a deal with every club to not pick Ah Chee.

It’s happened before even if it’s rare with Nick Stevens and Jade Rawlings. AFL player movement has changed this year with teams going to new levels to get better. This is our opportunity

Can we convince Cal Ah Chee to come to the Eagles, and take him in the PSD?

Ah Chee will still go to Adelaide says Cal Twomey.

Callum Ah Chee 's manager is that Ben guy that won 1st Big Brother . He lives in Adelaide , as thick as thieves with Adelaide Crows . Will be tough to convince Ah Chee to come to us .

We should forget about AhChee unless he is keen....

Why do we need to convince him?

Match whatever contract Adelaide is offering/what he's asking and take him at 1. I'm sure we have or can manipulate the space. He's a Best 22 player for no trade capital.

If he chucks a hissy he can sit out a year, two years or whatever the punishment is.

It would be real small peen energy not to just take him.

We could match anything the Crows put up.

The club should now be pulling out the stops to get him interested.

Every lever Don.:thumbsu:

Throw in a nice sign on bonus. It is our best shot at a free hit we have seen in years.

Get Ah Chee and it would be one of the steal's of the draft.

If they do that deal they have

15 (973)
18 (836)
24 (621)
28 (505)
29 (479)
36 (317)
52 (42)

Total 3773 points.

Bid on Patterson at 1. (2700 points)

They can't match and secure Uwland as well.
Given GCS have traded out their F1, does anyone know how large a points deficit they are allowed to carry into next year?

That's why I hope you can change his mind. End of the day if you get him, his leadership and experience helps you more than anything.
