We are not taking Ah Chee in the PSD, we never rock the boat.
We 100% should be talking to him trying to sell West Coast. Harley, a few more super kids this year, a couple of his other Lion team mates (assuming he gets along with them). And Perth's a better place to be

Not saying we should take him if he really doesn't want to come here, but it's a free swing & we should do what we can

Josh Jenkins just made a fair suggestion - we should package up our #1 pick in the PSD to Adelaide and see what we could shake loose. Might be able to land Schoenburger or one of their MSD picks.

We won't. We are content to lose him for nothing. He told Adelaide back in July/August that he wanted to join them, so I think you will find it hard to convince him to go West, but you never know. You shouldn't overpay for him though
Not sure if you've seen our list but we have almost no good players, who else are we going to give the money to lol

Why do we need to convince him?

Match whatever contract Adelaide is offering/what he's asking and take him at 1. I'm sure we have or can manipulate the space. He's a Best 22 player for no trade capital.

If he chucks a hissy he can sit out a year, two years or whatever the punishment is.

It would be real small peen energy not to just take him.
Worst case we trade him to Crows for a token pick after he sulks the year. Makes no sense not to take him.

Can you trade a psd pick? Trade it for the f2 the crows were offering the lions

Agreed. Ring him that morning and tell him he's going to Perth. He grew up here and his brother played with us, I'm sure he'll get on board after the shock wears off.

Yeah I hadn't considered that but that's probably the best way to approach it. I'd still be trying to sell him on coming to play in the West, but if he's adamant about playing for the Crows then strike a deal with them so that they have the #1 PSD pick and don't have to worry about someone grabbing him. Hell, tell Adelaide that we'll take what Brisbane rejected (future 2nd and 3rd). It's free draft capital for nothing.

Good on Essendon tbh. Players wanting to leave 2 minutes after signing a big contract can suck it up. They don't owe the Hawks a critical premiership piece.
I think they've hurt themselves, the trade capital is better for their future - but glad the Hawks didn't get him anyway

Nah you can't, but one of the nimrods on Trade Radio suggested it a couple of years ago - think it was Schwarz. Evidently I still find it funny.
The AFL changed the rules in the middle of the trade period specifically so that Geelong could offer three first round picks for Curnow. Just tell them to change the rules for PSD trades.

Good for Essendon (ew).

Master recruiter Sam Mitchell left holding his dick yet again.

Carlton got an absolute HAUL for Curnow.

Ah Chee via the PSD thanks for playing.
Was Brisbane forcing Ah Chee into the PSD also part of including 16 in the Starcevich deal? Or is that reading too much into the whole Oscar, Dev and Bris/WCE deals?

Dillon may wanna pop by our players places unannounced for BBQ's though, that sounds like an awfully hefty price to pay.

I'm bemused by the whole trade period.

We lost Allan and Ryan, who are both experienced players and clear best-22. And we lost Chesser who is on the fringe.

Picked up Starcevich, Young and might get Robertson.

For a club that won one game last year, that's some decidedly mediocre returns. Yep, we got pick 2 as compensation... which is unlike to help us next year. We desperately need experience, but actually went backwards in that regard. Even worse when you remember we lost McGovern and Sheed this year.

I'm struggling to see how we win more games next year.

Even if we get a bumper crop of talent in this year's draft, we can't expect them to have an immediate impact.

It's going to be grim.

Carlton did with Nick Stevens and he hung around.

We owe Crows nothing.

We have a chance to recruit the perfect replacement for Ryan and he will cost zero draft capitol whatever Crows try and pay him we can afford and they know it.

Very rarely do you get a chance at a free hit like this. We should take it.

Don't forget Norf pinched Hugh Greenwood off the Suns when they deslisted and were going to re-rookie him.

Bloke still hung around for 2 years and was happy with the move. Ironically he returned to Fold Coast after as a development coach.
