Yep. That chesnut we've been told how many times over the past 5 years.
Where has it landed us.

And we are seeing how ruthless the premiers and Hawks are at the trade table.
Look where they are.
Come on West Coast. Wake up and smell the roses. Our soft as baby poo trade stance has got us into this mess. Time to grow a pair and stand up for our interests and start pushing back.Dont care if we dont land Starc, Lions can keep him. He isnt that important.
Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish
You saying we werent ruthless enough with the Hawks . Then why did they trade out pick 14 last year . Just because Hawks did that you thought they were ruthless . They played that card but in the end THEY rolled over and offered CARLTONS 1ST AND 2ND ROUND PICKS
The fact is eagles were more ruthless in the end . Yes we took hawks and ended up with 15 and 33 for Barrass .
We just package pick 16 and a later pick for GC pick 6 and do what we always intended . Then 16 is off the table and who cares if we dont get Starcevich .

That’s how I got my wife, a quick tour of the facilities. She’s never looked back….

It has always made me wonder, if the club is worse off comparatively to the club of origin, do clubs even bother.

Surely they’re all of a reasonable standard these days that the impact is minimal.
Some have car parking

Trade with GC for pick 6. Not much difference between 6 and 2 . 6 Likely still lands Sharp or Cumming.

Put up the FA offer for Starc get him for nothing. Lions get nothing.

Trade Allen and make them pay.

Bid on Annables.

Get get Starc, keep our PP and land whatever for Allen.

2 v 6 not alot in it lets be honest.

If the Lions want to be kents then we do a number on them. We dont end up much worse off in reality. They end up bleeding.

Ever lever Don every lever. Time to stop letting the premiers bully the team finishing last.

And that Brizwhatever troll can crawl back under the rock he comes from.

Why not get 2 & 6? Even if we give up the PP we still have enough currency to get 6 of GC anyway. Clubs will come for 2 so it can be used multiple ways like sliding down the order slighty for extra picks.

Ask for 1 of Lions 3rds back aswell which gets the Young deal done.

This is an option but if I'm Brisbane, I'm taking a chance on Morris and Gallop ahead of trading for Allen. They'll lodge the paperwork. I just hope we have the nerve to hold off agreeing to anything around Starcevich until the paperwork has been lodged.

It was about daniel. We coulda got a whirloc, shanahab or Armstrong with our natural 2nd rounder.

Oh boy the spelling police are gonna be slapping some cuffs on this c*nt.

Are you saying we are tough negotiators?

I agree the final trade discussions with the Hawks we were hard nosed but picked the wrong 1st rounder. That was a decent outcome for us, just picked the wrong 1st.

ATM that trade result is an outlier not the standard.

Agree, pack 16 plus ? For GS 6.

If they are demanding a kings ransom for Starc who is one knock away for retirement we walk away. Let them explain that to their player that they wanted more than they would have got if he left as a FA. And he ends up on a worse deal.

Starc isn't going to move the needle much if at all. Just walk away.

Others will come for Allen if the Lions poo the bed.

Lions have made a commitment to him. Pony up or look like idiots.

I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about Sydney. If they're into Curnow, they should be into Allen. If they can afford Curnow, they can afford Allen. They have to trade for Curnow. They don't have to trade for Allen.

They want to play dirty.....we can have the last laugh.

Simple.

And next year we keep bidding and make them pay through the nose again. And again.

We are down the bottom for a while and they aren't. Lots of opportunities to make a statement over the next several years.

I know we can be tough as holding out on the Barrass trade showed . We promised Baker we would draft him but we only had 1 card and we split that as best we could . We have promised to draft Starc but this time we have more cards . We have to wait and see and whatever happens i am sure there will be detractors .

Lol @ the suggestion that Brockman could want out too - good luck to him!

My guess is his manager (I haven't checked but I assume he is Young Guns too?) is already laying early ground work for an extension on his current deal....an ambitious gambit at this stage but given the now never ending trade/FA news cycle it will likely become more common to try and sniff out some interest or spark some action from clubs.
