Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)

Its basically negligence if he isnt seen in W.A touring our facilities at this point

That’s how I got my wife, a quick tour of the facilities. She’s never looked back….

It has always made me wonder, if the club is worse off comparatively to the club of origin, do clubs even bother.

Surely they’re all of a reasonable standard these days that the impact is minimal.

I guess that is why GC are shopping Ainsworth around. Bet we will see a few other GC players move this trade period too.
Its an interesting move by GC.
Flanders is out to STK
Ainsworth being shopped around.
Humphreys being shopped around.
Seems Davies would be gettable.

WC need to be in discussions with all of Humphreys/Davies/Ainsworth in that order of needs.

In part through Vic Govt funding I dont think the differences between club facilities are substancial any more.

Nobody cares about CDT 2km. It's his sprinting and verticals that matter.
I agree verticals matter but having a ruckman that ranks in the top 5 for the 2km is invaluable these days. Means he could probably ruck most of the game and be creative and provide a regular outlet at kickouts and around the ground. Someone may correct me but I bet B Williams, Flynn, Barnett and Livingstone would all rank closer to the bottom in a 2km time trial.

CDT just needs to master the ruck taps by the sounds of it but that would be easier than turning our current rucks into athletic beasts.

I still want 2 mids as picks one and 2. Patterson (fairytale perhaps), Duursma and/or Sharp but I wont be upset at all if we choose CDT as one of our 2 picks.

We should be going super hard at Walter and Davies. Throw some serious cash at them to turn their heads.

Pick 2 plus 34 and all the Suns problems go away plus they have pick 2 to land another gun. Take Robey to replace Humphrey's if he wants out.
I like it.
I would prefer Humphreys over Davies but turn someone's head with the right $$, Humphreys is HR lite and about to break out as a player.
Davies would be a great backup option.
Walter is OOC in 2026 and this would be the time I would spend $$ and try and move him if we see him as a long term KPF at WC as we need another KPF through the draft/trade that's young and ready to replace Waterman in 4 years.

Geelongs 1st will be pick 19 by the time its done

Pick 19 for Ryan and pick 38 is like Pick 25 in reality so feels ok.

Would prefer this over Steele. With Graham, Robertson, Starcevich we should be at our limit of slower mature trade in options.

Allow us to try to get busy getting higher into the 1st round.

Wasn't Humphreys seen with Melbourne coachs yesterday picture probably snapped and leaked by his manager .

What would that do to a petrecca trade ?

Humphrey probably the best suns under 22 and on a long term deal .

Straight swap ?
Probably correct in Humphreys for Petracca, GC would need to add something else too I would think.

We arent selling our club good enough. We can offer

More money
Best facilities in the AFL
100k members
Packed optus stadium
Opportunities
HJ franchises
Growth with a team
Our track record of flags
We have never been seen as a destination club. Never will.

We are 3000km away from the AFL epicenter, like it or not.
The travel burden undeniably shortens players careers.
All clubs have amazing facilities.

Past success, has created a wonderful history for the club, should not be an expectation of future success.

Do we get involved with Sydney if they are in the hunt for Charlie Curnow?

Pick 2 would be good to throw up as bait for Sydney to try and grab to then flick to Carlton for Curnow I think.

Rowbottom been thrown up as someone who could be moved on and would fit us perfectly. A deal like

  • Pick 2 for Rowbottom + 10 + F3rd
  • Pick 2 to Carlton for Charlie Curnow
Rowbottom is not a bad shout. Solid player, right age, right position, solid club, Pyke connection.

Would love a Patterson / Sharp combo with our top picks.

Two very different players who hurt opposition.
If there is a slight chance he is available you would take him over Duursma.
He is electric and quick and would eventually be a Gulden type outside mid or balanced mid as he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty.
Sharp inside would be great.

Pick swap for a contracted Ryan sounds dogshite.

What are the options...
  • Geelong's pick for Marshall for our R3/4? (Geelong have 18, 38, 57, but are also in the running for Curnrow & Oliver?)
  • Their F1 for our F3?
Yeah. I can foresee a really crappy deal and a cave in from us on the cards. If Saints have gotten all of their other targets then they might be ambivalent about Ryan now and be looking to just put a really shitty deal on the table and tell us take it or leave it and not care if we leave it.

I’d be going straight to the Bombers and Blues who have interest. Bombers 2R (27) and change isn’t awful, or Ryan, Chesser, 24 to the Blues for pick 10 in a nice clean deal.

If he did go to Bombers then their 24,27 and Chesser for pick 10 might also appeal to the Blues.

Patterson is a jet. His floor is Adam Saad, his ceiling is Chris Judd.

I’m still on team Duurp, but a side containing H Reid, Yeo, Duursma, Patterson, McCarthy, Waterman and Shanahan has a lot of weaponry.

That’s great mate, but why would Carlton do that? They’ll be trading 10 for a F1 to help them with Walker.

Agree they will be after a F1 in a perfect world, but how do they get that, Chesser and still have points for Dean and Ison?

Realistically if they want Walker, Dean, Chesser and Ison, they’ll have to sell Curnow.
