• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts

I agree verticals matter but having a ruckman that ranks in the top 5 for the 2km is invaluable these days. Means he could probably ruck most of the game and be creative and provide a regular outlet at kickouts and around the ground. Someone may correct me but I bet B Williams, Flynn, Barnett and Livingstone would all rank closer to the bottom in a 2km time trial.

CDT just needs to master the ruck taps by the sounds of it but that would be easier than turning our current rucks into athletic beasts.

I still want 2 mids as picks one and 2. Patterson (fairytale perhaps), Duursma and/or Sharp but I wont be upset at all if we choose CDT as one of our 2 picks.

CDT is more likely a CHF that chops out in the ruck 20% of the time. We have Archer Reid who is a better forward already on the list

Apparently the picks Cal was referring to were that STK are offering an F3 for Ryan and then their F2 for GWS F3 and Aleer.

That's why they're offering a near worthless F3 for Ryan (happy for this deal to fall through if WC reject it) & pushing their Captain out the door. I fully expect them to get shafted by Geelong for Marshal as well because they can't afford to keep him to his contract (both from a salary cap & also draft capital perspective).

It’s pretty insulting, maybe after last year they think Bonnie may actually agree to it.

I’d much rather send Ryan and Chesser to the Blues for pick 19 in a clean trade. Or 2,17 and Ryan to the Bombers for 5,6 who also had interest.

For what purpose? He wants to go, he isn’t going to get what he wants from us, he is a hopeless trainer over the pre season so how will he go with a dislike for the place? And he should be being phased out anyway..

Unless Steele is on the table I can’t see how St Kilda have the assets to secure Flyin Ryan. Happy to hold him to his contract if a suitable deal can’t be done. He was good this year. Will be just as good or better with Waterman back and a year older Shanahan building chemistry.

F3 for Ryan is horrendous. Surely we could look for a player instead. If not Steele, what about someone like a Dodson, Barrat, Boxshall et al? I realise all are unlikely or recently extended, but Ryan is contracted and a best 22 calibre player, we can’t simply give him away for magic beans.
