• Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

The only mutually beneficial trade I can possibly see would be something like

Eagles trade: 16 + 23 + 37
Brisbane Trade: Starcevich + 19
Freo Trade: 12 + 33

Eagles get: Starcevich + 12
Brisbane get: 16 + 33 + 37
Freo get: 19 + 23

Eagles trade 22 for Starce and 12 for 16 + 37, Freo get a more suitable pick for rivers, Bris get points a slight pick upgrade.

I haven't read to see what the details are, but this looks like the first close guess to me.

My guess is this signals either we think we retain enough capital to trade up to at least Carlton’s pick if not GC, while upgrading 16 to 12, OR a definite trade down of 1 to 5+6 with other picks thrown around with the bombers.

Not sure I want Grlj if we have Duursma. Both have great outside games but I really think we need to target balanced and inside mids. Someone needs to get clean ball out to them. I would prioritise Cumming and Sharp ahead of them.

If we keep 17, I would be OK with Dalton. His wrist injury stuffed up his draft year but he came home strong.

I do like Dovaston. Watching him at Shark Park in the carnival and early he tore our backline a new one. Yes we have some NGA small forwards on our list and coming on our list but he is more the Watson/Weightman angry small forward.

As much as I like Doverston I feel like
we need to allocate our resources for mids and elite talent like duursma.

Fix the midfield first

We also need to back our NGA talent and brockman to step up and take those roles .

Twilliams and Kevens more those HFF roles than crumbing forwards but still free hits

There is this kid playing for SA this year Zane Peucker who looks really good as a late pick but I feel he goes around where we get bids for our NGAs

Pick 13 and 23 is 1733 points, so from a ‘trade up to Gold Coast pick’ perspective we’ve lost nothing if Freo put their first in.
