I was always of the thought that Adelaide and Port (particularly Adel) would be desperate to draft Sharp but have heard crickets from both in terms of trades or anything.

Feel like he's either dropped off their radars due to not as great a year or the fact neither have enough to bargain with us?

Hope they dont know something we dont

Happy Dyson Sharp day today!!! In about 7 hours we will see if we hold pick 2 in which case I'm convinced. Welcome Dyson you were always the one

People joke about trading 2 on the day LOL. Sure sure. Pie in the sky stuff.

People need to learn to connect the dots

Adelaide don't have much to play with and are attempting to trade for Ah Chee.

Port seemingly aren't gonna draft anyone. They are only planning to upgrade 3 rookies.

Port had no R1 this year and are lining up a picks for 2026 to get Cochrane (we should hear soon re his NGA status)

Crows are in the window and will only have Late’ish picks so not close to getting enough value to trade unless it’s a Curtin sale

Assuming you need a top 5 pick to guarantee Sharp, neither SA team has anything close to a pathway to get there. If he slides they may try see if a F1 can get them there, but there's no way at the current stage.

Not sure both will be there though.

If i was to guess Demons would take Robey at 2.

Tigers then probably just take Grlj and trade 4 to Blues who would take CDT.

There's every chance Bombers take Schubert and one of Sharp or Cumming to pair the SA kids. They may take Taylor but i think they would see the benefit as we do in adding a couple of team mates.
Would Essendon need Sharp with Durham? Or is Durham better outside? I'm thinking Essendon would be looking at inside/outside or pure outside mids.

Retain Pick 2, get Sharp.

Everyone is crawling up Duursma's clacker but Sharp's the lad who's gonna lead us to the promised land alongside Harley. In 5 years that 1-2 combo is gonna wreck the comp so hard it will force the Vic-biased AFL House to change midfield rules just to limit their overwhelming power. We're looking at Judd/ Cousins 2.0.

But is he quick?

If not he sounds like Culley.

Big bodied mid.

To be talked up at pick 2 you need to be reasonably quick surely?
I'd say that he's more of a leadup fwd rather than a mid. Almost like Waterman 2018-2019 era.

Not quick, but not slow. I'd say average for his size and height and he's what 190 cm at a guess? I don't think that he's overly explosive especially in the midfield, but will get you on the lead. He loves a tackle and has the smarts, which is the old adage of seeming quicker than you are as you're already moving to where you need to be.

I think he's a massive risk at #2 for us especially considering lack of exposed form. Maybe ends up something like a better Cam Zurhaar, though people will be thinking he can be the next Petracca/Humphrey.

I'd be waiting to see what Melbourne/GC do today. If GC give up 7+8, their points situation becomes fairly dicey. Patterson then becomes a live option, and I'd be seriously considering keeping pick 2 and trying to pair him with Duursma.

I can see the dash, flair and bit of mongrel of Patterson being something Mini would love to bring into our gamestyle. Very good player for the modern game with a high ceiling, and probably something we don't have off halfback as yet (half back with midfield potential??)

Duursma + Patterson + slider to 13 or Duursma + Sharp + Cumming (pending a 2+13 for 5+6 trade).... both sound good!
