• Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

Hard to believe they would cut it this fine with their points if they thought there was a high chance we would bid 1 and 2 for their guys.

They only have 30 on their main list, so they'll be fine.

If all those picks are eaten up by the bids early, they'll then not only lose their other academy players (they probably don't care about that), but will also end up filling the bottom 6 spots on their list with picks at the end of the draft on two year deals, which will kill their depth. While they CAN do it, they will need to tread a very delicate line.

We traded our FF3 with Liam, so couldn’t afford him

Can they go into deficit into two drafts though?

If this year's ladder was repeated next year, they'd have (before any compo etc) 23, 30, 41, 49 which equals 1406 points, so they'd have to package them up.

If I'm right, if they had those picks they'd have to cough up 23, 30 and 41, and they'd get back 160 points, and get 45 back.

I don't think he had the interest in leaving the Saints until it became pretty obvious they needed to clear his salary. So I doubt he was ever seriously thinking about Perth.

Speaks more to a lack of 'pre-work' on the guy.

We'll see though - he is past his best either way - Melbourne may just have replaced Jack Billings with another St Kilda Jack.
