• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Ben Hobbs been delisted too! Bit of a surprise - though officially means we got more return for Chesser than they did for Hobbs.

Attitude problems have obviously been flagged as a thing but on talent and position would be worth it as a rookie spot IMO. Especially if being delisted and getting away from Melbourne mates was the mindset change he needed.

I wonder if Melbourne would offer up 7+8 for 2+34. They've traded up in the past and both CDT and Robey fill big positional needs for them. If they did, i would take it, 7+8 lands us two of (Sharp, Cumming, Dovaston, Schubert, Farrow) and then we still keep 13, with Lindsay a good chance to still be there. I assume we would have enough points to match on Williams and Banfield as well.

With regards to the comments on CDT not being in top 10 for standing or running vertical he has been discussed as being just outside the top 10. Like many I was worried about the implications of this but looking back very few are and the only top rucks I found in the top 10 was Nic Nat and Tim English. Jackson, Xerri, Ethan Reid all not listed in top 10 as examples. He is a solid unit that can run and that doesn’t normally translate into a large vertical unlike smaller more dynamic athletes. If he was close to top 10 it would put his standing in the 68-71cm range, for context Barnett’s was 62cm.

Not advocating to select him at 2 but it’s not the argument for why not.

I've seen a snippet of his running vertical at the combine. It didn't look horrible, I would guess he's in that 60-70 and 80-90 range between the standing, and the running vertical. It's not horrible and something to work with. You can see from his jumping at the champs etc. that he's not completely unathletic with his jump, but I wouldn't call it a strength either. Height is more important for me, If he's grown to 204cm as tentatively reported then we can be confident he will have the size to compete as a legit ruck at AFL level. If that's a false report and he's only 200cm and stopped growing, then we need to accept at best he's going to be an undersized mobile ruck/KPF - that for sure isn't worth pick 2 even in this draft.

He's comes across as a competitor, so hopefully he will be able to apply himself and improve his ruck craft. His frame gives vibes he could end up quite a solid boy in a few years.
