List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)

Gee, we're lucky Mitch McGovern was re-signed at the Blues.

We now have 15 less pages to read about should we or should we not take him.

I know the post is getting canned, but you know what? I’m kinda with the dude here.

Maybe not now, but a wrap up post draft and the strategy behind it given how shit we are on the field isn’t the worst idea in the world.

When I was a new BigFooty grasshopper and still school aged, the club used to do events for those on the membership waitlist. It was at those events you’d get access to someone like a list manager or recruiter and they’d explain their thinking to an extent.

Now, social media was in its infancy and my phone then could record potato quality pictures so I know this is something at an old man yells at cloud moment - 17/18 year olds weren’t recording gotchas for TikTok - but the club on the whole should do better to re engage the members - I know Miguel Sanchez definitely shares my sentiment there.

So. Post draft tie the two up. Have an event where 100 members get to go chat to Matt Clarke and ask him the nitty gritty.
An old work colleague was connected into north Melbourne. Every year they would have a lunch after the draft, I won’t say who it was hosted by but a member of the drafting team would run through vision, explain why they picked them. Nothing was off the table in terms of asking a question. I was new to Melbourne and was invited one year, the year we drafted Dom Sheed. Was the best footy event I have been to. It was not an official event, so I was very lucky to attend. I’m not even sure they do it anymore but I’m glad I got the opportunity to go once. Just for size, was 14 people in a private room over lunch.

Worth offering a train on spot to but suspect he’ll try to win back his spot at Carlton
Reading between the lines (so to speak) Carlton may not have room for him depending on when bids come for Dean and Ison.

A train on spot with a fresh start and the promise of a good salary if he keeps his shit together may be enough to entice him over.

Ask the AFL to allow us to have every delisted player train and then do a fight to the death till 4 are left over.

Sounds like a Worsfold initiative.

Prefer Luamon Lual & Ben Hobbs before Tom mitchell
Is there much difference between Hobbs and Hall? Noting Hobbs has been in the system 2 years longer.

With a list profile predominantly under 23 at least Mitchell can provide leadership and professionalism. We have lost a few leaders this offseason.

Spoke very well and mature answers, seems like a really grounded good kid.

I don't think we could go wrong with calling his name out at pick 1.
I haven’t listened to the Duursma chat yet but I thought Robey was pretty good on Gettable too. 192cm, versatile, tough and has had to work hard to rise up the rankings.

Was also interesting to hear Cal concede that CDT wasn’t a lock at pick 2. Maybe it will be a WD and Robey combo at 1 & 2?

Edit: He may have also been referring to bids matched at pick 2 (hopefully) but I wouldn’t be mad if we got Robey

If we have 5 main list spots and taking 4, and 4 rookies. How about cutting Livingstone and Barnett also?.
Does that make it 10?
1. Duursma. Pretty good.
2. Robey. Reminds me a little of Hewitt. He speaks well good in interviews, and is not short on confidence. Can't not be a star.
3. Dovaston. - Best small forward.
Plus academy players and father n' son
4. Banfield
5. Williams
6. Evans
7. Walley
Delisted players
8. Mitchell - 2 years - Gap filler - If fit or injured he can educate the lads with high standards, and help us get first ball.
He could be a good incredible back up if Yeo decides to take another year off.
9. Shoenberg - 2 years
10. A TALL Ruck like a Mate Colina - standing at around 9ft tall, or if he is too injured, someone like him who is ready made. Who dosen''t want a Mate for a mate?.

If not a TALL ruck then someone who can kick.
I just watched some highlights of Jaxon Binns. He looks like a really good kick and decision maker.

With my list management plan, I expect to be in the top 16 next year. Top 12-14 the year after. Then a reign of terror on their foes for the years that follow.

These ramblings are just like my opinion man, positive or negative criticisms appreciated. Prove me wrong!

I agree but going of that in depth article about him, saying if he keeps his shit together when he clearly suffers a mental illness is a low blow in my opinion

Didn’t read the whole article other than to see he’d been delisted. Keeping his shit together was in no way a reference to mental illness, it was a reference to staying off the gear.

If they don't tell the nuffies on Bigfooty the exact details of plans to fill the rookie list, they have no idea, right?

I'm sure there's a plan, but it's really not important to tell you. Or me, or Woodcock or ....

Plus you don't want your entire strategy out there, just in case it clashes with another team's strategy, causing them to make choices that you needed them not to do.
This logic makes no sense at all. Other clubs are fairly open with their intentions. Why are those with better cultures and ahead of us in every way not seen as the bemchmark of what to do?

Hawthorns very aggressive approach to creating its list is a clear winner. Us hiding in the corner doesnt appear to be working.
