Dyson Sharp on potentially moving interstate, I found it very interesting how he referenced Nicholls moving to Perth and then mentioned Shannon Hurn… he’d know quite a few boys who moved to Victoria etc but specifically chose to mention both Perth people including Hurn who he wouldn’t even know.

Probably reading too much into it of course, but yeah.

An oppo supporter was in here a week or so again, basically saying Sharp to WCE was all but a done deal.

The CDT stuff could simply be us fishing for picks up until draft night

Funny (both as in interesting, as well as haha) that he didn't mention Pav?

This is a public service announcement to remind people to change the batteries in their sarcasm detectors.
To be fair, I'm off work with a thumping migraine today.

I could barely detect of my **** is on fire right now

Is this the kind of ruckman we should using one of our rookie spots on

Rated one of the best best ruck in sanfl this year.

211cm

1 - Lachlan McAndrew (Adelaide)

Measuring in at a massive 211cm, McAndrew adapted to the standard of the Hostplus SANFL League in impressive fashion to be the premier ruckman of the competition.
The 25-year-old averaged 13 disposals, four clearances and five tackles while also leading the League in hit outs with 609 from 16 games, including the major round.
Recruited from the Sydney Swans, McAndrew was selected as first ruck in The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year and placed runner-up in the Crows’ SANFL Club Champion Award.
I didn't think he was out of contract, unless I'm mistaken?

Was it fremantle to take port Adelaide's Francis but then it came out it would exceed their cap and then they couldn't take him? Something lke that?

Fabian Francis ? JHF"s Dad ?

Yep, Freo pledged to take him and convinced him to leave Port. Was then discovered they were over the salary cap so had to back out of the deal. They had Francis playing the year for South Fremantle with the promise to take him the next year in the draft, and then Francis did his knee first game with South. Freo backed out of drafting him, and had to come up with a cash settlement with him.

They did later make him a runner though, but Francis wasn't impressed with the whole experience

This part stood out for me
Shortly before the preseason draft, the AFL informed Fremantle that they had exceeded Total Player Payments (TPP) for season 2001 - despite finishing last with only two wins for the year
Finished last, and still managed to breach the salary cap

I would have laughed before, but after the last five years, it could have been us.

Is it worth getting Cripps and another veteran onto the rookie list? Given that we hold pick 1 in the rookie draft we could move Yeo or Kelly with zero risk of someone else taking them, and then move Cripps over with our second pick. Using this on a veteran means a younger player like Barnett or Johnston don't become a lifetime UFA, on the slim chance they come good and have value in the future.

This would give us maximum flexibility to match bids or pick up sliders in the draft, and would allow us to carry an extra pick (58), which should come in very quickly once bids start getting matched.

How can we put Patrick Cripps on the rookie list he doesnt even play for us?

I can't wait for draft day- it feels like we are just stuck on an endless loop:

- unrealistic trades for pick 2
-CDT: gun or spud
-Sharp: gun or spud
-who to Rookie list
-endless permutations around bidding/points/trading up or down/how many list spots

And yet I can't look away!
